So I found a lamp and out comes a Genie who said he would grant me one wish.

Immediately I said, “I want to live forever.”

“Sorry,” said the Genie, “I’m not allowed to grant eternal life.”

“OK,” I said, “Then, I want to die after Julia Gillard gets her head out of her arse!”

“You crafty bastard,” said the Genie....

Yeah, a lot of those are based on perception, which has nothing to do with his ability to do the job. As for whether he stands for something, he stands for the same thing Rudd and Gillard did when they were in opposition: anything the government doesn't. Hence the title "opposition leader".

There have been a lot of studies of perception that demonstrated that how people are seen depends on what the preconceptions are.
Even perceptions of whether someone is recalled as tall or short, when asked after seeing them in the flesh, is shaped by such priming.

I have to agree with Chuck, Abbott I am reluctant to vote for as I don't trust in his ability to deliver, Turnbull I would vote for in a heartbeat as I believe he can and would deliver in a sensational fasion. This is obviously untested and just my perception, but it is a perception I find difficult to shrug. Gillard is tested and although she has delivered some good initiatives (eg: NDIS) she has made a mess of alot of things. This leaves me with very few options come September 14th :(

I just changed Chuck's quote done previously about Abbott - it applied to both of them.
You have made a bad mistake though Gozu - I haven't voted Liberal in the HoR for a number of years. See if you can work out why :yawinkle:

I've seen Cory's abs before, Gozu - he use to show them off all the time - no surprises there other than I reckon the "before" photo is has been enhanced with 50L of water to accentuate the "after" result. A common practice in the Biggest Loser

I feel better about Turnbull than Abbott too, and am anticipating Turnbull and Hockey will have a modifying effect in the Cabinet.
Above I was making only a general comment about how we form opinions of people we don't actually know and may never have even spoken to.
