What name to call your in-laws?

Mother and Father-in-laws ...

Mum, Dad, first names or other?

I've had two sets of in-laws and never ever considered calling them Mum or Dad.
First names if calling their attention, but otherwise I didn't use a title at all.

I wasn't close to either set, though I felt some sympathy for the first father-in-law as his wife was a bit of a pain.
I understood why he was often out for a few hours, being a good neighbour, and doing little household repairs for the Polish widow who lived out the back.
It was amusing that I was the only one who noticed.
(He knew I had, but neither of us ever said anything.)

Yep, first names. Although my kids call my Mum and Step-Dad ( Nan and Gramps ) and they call my wifes Mum and Step-Dad ( Nanna and Pop ) so I find myself calling them Nanna and Pop more than their first names.

After 20 years together with the wife, I have never called them Mum and Dad.

First name for me....would feel wierd for both parties if mum and dad was the reference.

First names for me too.

Believe it or not, my in-laws are really good to me, and they call me their son, as my wife is an only child. But out of respect to my parents, I can't bring myself to call my in-laws Mum and Dad.

i got queried by the father in law as to why I dont call him Dad.

I simply said well you are not my father and that title does not belong to you for me.
