yes but people don't go just to see one particular player. South Aussies aren't that shallow, are they?

I think it has more to do with how fanatical a supporter you are than shallowness.

Does anyone have any ideas? He will let me know by the end of the week. This WILL be endorsed by The CDFC.

Great work CENTURION ... this is exactly what needs to be done. Let's hope CDFC doesn't get spooked by politics and allows sign. I think HANDS OFF OUR SANFL sends exactly the right message. Should be one at EVERY ground this season!

You guys should consult the people who ran the "Occupy" movement and see if they have any tips on succesful protesting.

What about the eagle supporter who had the cardboard sign at woodville? Surely he could be a general for this army.

Maybe we could track down this fellow?

Was apparently pretty handy with a camera too so if not leading the charge, maybe the official publicist / photographer? Just try to avoid floodlit battles. :D

The question is when a big named player has been dropped from an AFL club have they increased crowds. No so it will not work. Maybe for the first year Crows and Power supporters may turn up but that will die down.

A few ideas.

- Get a march or protest happening in the CBD or Footy Park where all SANFL supporters attend to vent their views against the AFL getting the reserves sides in our SANFL comp.

- Like the Save the SANFL (ABC TV broadcast) badge on Facebook, create another you can stick on your profile.

Get on this now people or we are well and truly stuffed!!!

Good ideas from fellow posters. :D
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Whatever it takes - I believe collectively we can keep them out!!!

Trite comment from a supporter whose football club is one of the reasons this thread exists. Port drain the SANFL of something like 14 million causing ticket prices to rise from $10 to $14. And now Port and the Crows want to ruin the SANFL. If having a reserves side is so important give the VFL a ring and see what they say.
And after that ring Blighty in Queensland and ask him how he managed to win back to back AFL premerships without a reserves side.

Trite or realistic?

I support anyones right to protest, but some things simply cant / wont be changed. If the SANFL and two SA AFL clubs want a reserves side, do you think some canvas banners will stop them?

I dont want the Magpies to be a reserves side, I'd be happy with the Magpies reserves being the Powers two's and the league side play on as normal with no Power players.

F*CK THE CROWS and F*CK THE POWER. The narrow mindness of these two sides is killing the SANFL. All the SANFL cares about is how much money they can rip off the public over there shoving them down people's throats.

The ABC has several live crosses during their coverage each week - wouldn't be hard to organise someone with a sign to stand behind CK or Soders, or whoever's doing it, at each match covered...

They shouldn't be able to sell our "Footy Park"!

It's ours not the AFL's.

Money is irrelivant.

It's an investment in SANFL.

So it's a concrete jungle....

It's the SANFL's.

Or am I way off here guys....

The value of Footy Park will double in 5 years.

Can you show me a better investment in SANFL...?

Our state seems to sell all our assets off and we have nothing left.

You're right dog_ger, it is the sanfls. In saying that, I think the SANFL should develop the land themselves as it, if done correctly, would be a great source of income for many many years to come.

If we sell our Footy Park, our days are numbered.

All clubs can borrow money against an asset.

Once it's gone, so our we... :(

Adelaide Oval will not save SANFL.
