Rnd 2 - Sturt v Port Magpies @ Coopers Stadium (Fri N 5/4)

Postby Big Phil » Sun Mar 31, 2013 8:58 pm

The Double Blues are playing a 'home' game against the Magpies, coming off a very poor performance at the same venue a week earlier. Sturt were very good for a half against the Eagles but completely fell away in the 2nd half...

This one will be an interesting game...

Port are up against it already! The SANFL league ladder on the SA Footy home page has Port - played one, lost two
Sturt (and South) are going OK though - they've both got 2 premiership points despite not having won a game yet

Is this the first time these two sides have met for points at Norwood?
I wish I could be there if it is. Such a historic occasion deserves a big crowd. (If it is the first time.)
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Good luck Sturt hope you draw a big crowd. Good choice of opponent to test the water. Maybe the start of a regular thing.
Please play your home games against Norwood too ;)

Will Sturt be training at Coopers Stadium this week? Or just showing up next Friday night?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Norwood have allowed the Double Blues to have a run at The Parade tomorrow, or Thursday night?

Crowd prediction? Might be a tough one to predict; should easily get 4,000 you'd expect, and could push 6,000?
Sturt should actually see if it can survey the crowd to see how many neutrals get along to this game.

Neutrals = 0
Not sure Port fans will be in force but Sturt fans have a chance to vote with their feet for this venture.

Not sure, you'd think it would be though.

I would of liked to go watch the game but can't now.

Just sent Sturt Football Manager Paul Sandercock an email regarding this...

He advises the Under 16's are the curtain raiser to the League game and yes, the Reserves are playing at Alberton on Saturday...

Oh, so you're convinced South isn't a contender then? We've had the bloody thing these past two seasons and are still unable to wash all the blue and white paint off it. Dont know why your mob doesn't refer to it as the wooden boomerang. ;)
