Other interesting questions might be the state of the relationship between the two heads of the organisations involved and the subsequent impact on the investigation and fine, the exact nature of the conversations between the two ex-cricket administrators that lead to the charges being laid and, as JK pointed out, why the NFC have been sanctioned more severely for a lesser offence than the WAFC.
Could it be because Norwoods breach was deemed to be intentional and the fact they denied and tried to hide the error.

I've just heard that the SANFL had the information since March LAST year and Chandler forwarded to the investigator without approaching anyone at Norwood. Poor form SANFL if that is the case.

From what he mentioned it seems like we paid for 3 or 4 return flight to Melbourne tickets and didnt disclose this to the league.

While Norwood did not breach the $360,000 salary cap last year, it failed to provide appropriate documentation in relation to player payments.
The breach was uncovered by the SANFL's independent salary cap investigative committee and the Redlegs fronted the commission on March 25.
"Regulation breaches were identified during the 2012 season where benefits were provided without the necessary documentation to justify them," SANFL general manager Chris Davies said.

Most clubs do the opposite - pay the families to fly over to Adelaide to see their sons! Not much the League can do about that!

Hang on I saw Norwood giving their players a meal after the game last year .... several times. Should we declare that ?
Sadly a Mickey Mouse unprofessional bunch of idiots has the abused power of fining clubs real money.
Do they want Norwood to pay directly into the Port Power account ?

Its been part of the salary cap from day dot as far as im aware.
Remember Centrals breached in 2000 when they bought the players DVD's to watch the GF after the season finished.

I didn't have a problem with Chandler until now if that is true. Surely the SANFL should be trying to help Clubs get under their cap not just try and get them?
