Having nearly lost my voice screaming at the 1/4 and 3/4 time huddles I'm as upset as any Port man about last night. BUT if I hear or read one more comment from our supporters about "why didn't we recruit a good old fashioned Port Adelaide coach" I'm going to Vomit!

It doesn't matter whether it was Darren Mead, Stephen Williams, or Tony Bamford.... they still would have got pantsed. Norwood were just too good, lead admirably by Port Adelaide's own Brent Renouf and Matt Thomas. How sick am I of watching our OWN players beat us?

Whatever McGregor tried didn't work. He tried flooding in the first half to stop the bleeding, Norwood kept scoring. He tried attacking in the second half and Norwood looked like a rugby scrum rolling out of defense like a tidal wave.

Saw a very interesting sight at the last change with Shaun Rehn holding a "team meeting" that included Ben Newton, Justin Hoskins and Brent Renouf.

And chatted to Tony Wilson post game at the Alma. He said he felt very conflicted about the game. Especially as he still has another lad in the PA U18s

Going by Thomas' game last night we will have him for a fewe more weeks.
Got plenty of it but more turnovers than a bakery.
The Wilson boys will be an excellant addition to our side, showed some good signs last night. The younger brother would also be welcome but with our receuiting ban he will have to wait now ;)

Nup Norwood will sign him now, get caught for "cheating" again, claim it was an admin oversight and at the same time blame previous employees and point the general finger of blame at everyone and everything outside the Parade.

You should apply for a job there, seem to have the requisite understanding of what working at Norwood entails.

Another clinical Norwood performance last night, Bassett really makes it hard to score against his teams. Wilson looked good for us along with the normal suspects turning in their standard excellent efforts.

Is John Butcher any good? Watching Andrew Kirwan, someone who'd earn about a hundreth of Burcher's bloated pay packet, expose him as a massive spud was highly amusing.

Actually I've long thought John Butcher could be anything, and I still believe that to be true .. Just needs to get a bit more consistency into his game, but he's only young, he'll be a very good AFL footballer imho.

that's the worst performance by a Magpies team that I've seen in quite a while, but was to be expected, we've lost a lot of class from last years team and haven't replaced it. McKenzie had a bit of the ball last night, used it ok at times, but for someone who was standing right under the ruckmans feet all night, to end up with 0 tackles is terrible. We need to get more out of Josh Thurgood. His decision making really lets him down, and I don't see him as a viable option up forward. So many times we had the ball last night with no one to kick to, because no one up the ground would lead. We ended up just chipping it around, switching to the other side of the ground, where once there no one was moving so no opions, so kept chipping it around, usually straight to a Norwood player. We have a lot of work to do this year to get things going in the right direction. That said, we were playing the team that will again dominate the season and barring a bad run of injuries, will comfortably go back to back. They are that much better than everyone else.

Luke Wilson showed why the previous coaching staff were completely stupid for not even giving him a go last year, especially with our midfield of plodders, he was always going to be handy bringing the ball down the ground.

You used to be fun. ;)

Needs to work a lot harder, if he's half as good as we're constantly he is he should be impacting on games far more than he did last night.

late in the game when we started getting more of the ball into the forward lines Butcher showed his class.

He's a big lad, and a baby in his footy career (also had his injury troubles in the last year or 2) - Kicked a pretty speccy goal last night that was pure class. He'll be right!

If only Harder put as much energy into getting a kick as his did trying to push and shove blokes he would go ok.
Was hilarious seeing him try to intimadate us before the bounce, just worry about getting a kick lad.
As for "The Future" well Port is in big strife if you are pinning your clubs hopes on him, stil carrying an injury I believe but he has a long way to go. Think the Maggies will be having him for awhile yet

What a great night out , went and saw the hottest ticket in town lastnight the RAMPAGING REDLEGS. It started with the unveiling of our 28th premiership flag and finished with the dismantling of our
arch rival. Awesome display from a well coached unit , Bassett is the master! With our best still to come things are looking ominous. Good crowd, good result.

And to think there is still potentially nearly a dozen players to still come back in over the next month.
Selection will be a nightmare

Very well drilled disiplined team Norwood with some great players to come into the side.
How Luke Wilson did not get a game last year is beyond me ! Guess the youngest brother will be moving into the " Norwood area " soon ? ;)
Never seen a Port team kick sideways and backward before. Long season Magpies.
How arrogant is that comment about Thomas and Renouf being "our" players. Guess this is the One Club coming out.
Not sure who will beat Norwood this year.
