Do I get a medallion? I played a minor role in the victory.

WHAT HAPPENED?!!!!!

CAN HEAR THE GAGGING UP AT THE HILL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THEBARTON TODAY!!!

CHOKE ARTISTS!!!

HA

Bit harsh there mate, i dont think they choked at all, they have had a superb season and didnt make it this far by pure a$$, but they ran into a red hot and ready R&C who have had the advantage of being there before and a lot of experience in the side, as well as some smart cricketers who sum up situations well.

For the record, the game isn't won yet and no one at R&C is thinking that way, still a job to do and knock over these runs without giving the goats a sniff of getting back in the game.
A lot of people - myself included - predicted OTH to be near the bottom at the start of the season, and it's a credit to them and their club and maybe even Bill Fuller-Schit that they had such an outstanding season culminating in 3 sides in Grand Finals.

It has been good this year to see sides like OTH & CU perform and really appear as genuine contenders instead of the same old likes of SW/R&C/AV.

If OTH can keep their side, maybe add couple more, then I am sure they will be up and around the mark again next year and possibly for a while to come..

Definately have been quietly confident all week, getting over SW was like getting the monkey off the back, they have been the bogey side for rosies. It was an interesting build up compared to previous seasons, a more relaxed, carefree type attitude, i think finishing 3rd has proved a blessing, we haven't felt the pressure of recent seasons finishing top 2 and feeling like we had to perform.
Also there has always been a little something else riding on the game which has possibly affected the side - 1st year was washed out vs SW, 2nd year looking to make up for the year before lost to BL, last year SW were undefeated but 3rd GF in a row the pressure to break the shackles and finally claim that win was crazy. This year I think there has been more of a feeling/understanding that what happens happens and not lose sleep over what may have/could've been, tomorrow's another day, the sun will still come up.

BUT

Game isn't over yet... OTH still havent unleashed their secret weapon OTHphilby with the ball 8)

Froffies is alright, I enjoy his work, he comes on here and says what he likes and everyone gets all emotional and razzed up, people take things to literally!

But I think the shot at OTH is just a bit rough and isn't warranted, especially after all OTH have achieved this year as a club. Makes it worse given there is still tomorrow to play, and they have had a horror day today, it's like kicking someone while they're down..

.. i'll at least wait till Tues ;)

Agree about the having lost a few you get to a point where you just relax about it all.

At EP a couple years ago there was three of us who had lost our last 3 GF's we had played in and leading in to the GF we were just comfortable with the whole thing, knowing the sun comes up the next day either way, life goes on its just cricket. Slept like a baby both nights of the GF and the 3 of us were the most relaxed around the side.

Sometimes you do have to lose some to win some.

Yup exactly right. Grand final week can be a tough one, the build up, the wait, the excitement - you spend so much energy before the game, you build yourself up so much that if you lose it hurts more and can be tough to take.

Although perennial bridesmaids, Rosies are still finals hardened....were going to be very hard to beat.

Certainly makes a difference playing finals year in year out regardless of how many blokes pile them on with the stick during the year.

I'm sure they're on the cans now....as they should be.

Apparently in a turf GF today a side was bowled out for 81, then were chasing leather while the opposition piled on 2/60..........................................................then took 8/21 to tie the GF and take it to the second innings.

The game is never ever ever over...........but with Brooksey still to come its as good as done. ;)
