Port Power and the Adelaide Crows play in the reserves competition and no points are awarded to teams when they play the AFL reserves teams ... effectively an 8 team competition with 10 teams.
The Port Magpies do not play SANFL league or U18 competitions and both revert to an 8 team competition.
Port Magpies cease to be an entity at the conclusion of the 2013 season.
perfect. The Crows & Power won't put their reserves sides in the VFL, too far away for them to control properly, let's face it, they are going in the SANFL. AND THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.

The League Directors of the 8 clubs have made it clear that they want NO AFL reserves team in our main comp. They will look at any proposal re having them play in the SANFL Reserves comp but even that is not ideal for all concerned but I could wear that if that is the only option.

Have some faith HTH, this bloke only took the job offered to him at the SANFL after they assured him it wasn't a done deal. And, ask Sturt people what he thought of the SANFL comp before coming to the Eagles - the only reason he was known around the place was because he was a massive Sturt fan who had become friends with Lennon, Threadgold, Weatherald, Nelson et al.
I've spoken about this with him, it's not the SANFL's decision, it's the SANFL Clubs decision. His role will be to present options and one of them has to be the Crows and Power in the SANFL competition.
The Crows agenda is clear, the Powers agenda less so. We should be lobbying our Clubs so they don't make a 'one Port' mistake again.

Does anyone here know him personally ? If so how about reminding him of where he came from. My estimation of him has just dropped 50 points.

But there's so much at stake here I think it would be naive to trust anyone. The WA experience is proof of that.

Nine clubs? Surely there are only 8 voting clubs?

As it currently stands I couldn't see Norwood, North, Glenelg or Centrals voting for it.
We know Ports position, West and Sturt may have no choice, especially as Sturt have theirs debts secured by the SANFL and WWT's connection to the Crows worries me.
