nah!!

O'Meara will be every bit as good.

Viney hasnt played in the last 2 weeks of the NAB Cup so dont think he will be ready by round 1.

Kommer is a mature age who looks ready for a role on a half forward flank for the Dons, hasnt got alot of the ball but is brilliant value for posessions.

imho Viney will be a good downgrade option early in the year.

My main worry is how much time Daniher and Patton will see early on.
I've taken a risk with Watts too.

I like your selection of Ellis. He looks really good so far. Added a few kgs plus looks like has got a bigger tank. What do guys think of Ziebell?

Ellis is a real hard nut. Seems to be common in Richmond's backline.

I don't know if I could justify picking Ziebell at his pricetag.
Love the way he goes about it though.

I'm interested in Port fans' or anyone's take on the string of defender rookies:

Pittard
Heath
Colquhoun
Stevenson

I locked Pittard in early but his NAB scores seem very low. Conversely Heath has been scoring decently.

How would you rank these blokes?

Sandilands has stuffed his injured hammy even more and Zac Clarke isn't fit either. Good chance for Jonathon Griffin to step up out West. I'm expecting a huge number from Big Cox now though on Saturday night.

Why are people putting Cox in the forward line? I don't get it.

Is the 3rd best ruck...ie. McEvoy going to outscore Bartel/Buddy/Rocky/Zorko/Chappy/Robinson/Pav/Thomas????

I doubt it.

Cox is R1 for me. I was more pointing out a POD with Griffin. His numbers should inflate with the extra game time.

Does the unlimited trades end once the Crows vs Essendon starts or do we still get unlimited trades until next weeks games start except for the Crows, Essendon, West Coast, Freo players in your side.

Does that make sense.

Do you mean is it a rolling lockout ? If so, yes it is

Sorry what i mean is this week there are only 2 games so we will only see the 4 teams round 1 line ups, if the unlimited trades stop once the Adelaide v Essendon game starts we will then have to take a guess at what the other 14 teams will line up like the following week.

Or can we continue to make unlimited trades until next Thursday when we can see all teams round 1 line ups except for the Adel, Ess, WC, Fre side who have already played.

Well after many weeks of permutation analysis and the scrutiny of each individual, I have decided that the mid price strategy will not work in SC.

However, with the two trade policy for DT it is appropriate for this format.
So I have headed down that path with only 4 mid pricers in SC but 13 in DT.
Still hours and hours to settle the side though! :(

I don't think that's right Alaska. I think only your Crows and Essendon players will be locked in on Friday. WC/Freo Sat, then you can swap whoever you want in the rest of your team until the rest of the round next week. I still recommend having a full squad of 30 that you are happy with tomorrow night, just in case.

My understanding is that yes, you can trade freely, except for players from the teams that play this weekend.
Fully limited trading starts after the Geelong/Hawthorn match.

There are three rolling lock outs this year

As of the first bounce tomorrow night your Crow, Bomber, Eagle and Dockers players are locking in.

The second lockout with by next Thursday night at the start of the blues v tigers game, where the players from these teams will be locked.

Then the final lockout (where your team cannot be changed) is from the first bounce of the Saturday game.

Hope this makes sense.

And to make it a little more complicated:

Last year every player on your team had to be locked into position by 7.40pm Friday. If there was a late change after that - and barely a week went by without one - bad luck.
This season players will be locked in position only when their team's match begins. If Collingwood doesn't play until Sunday afternoon, you have until then to move your Magpies from the field to the bench, name them captain or emergency, or make a trade (but only with players from other teams who haven't played yet)
