That's as good a stab in the dark as I can come up with. On paper, it's a fairly strong team, and one that should have no probs making the five. The only question mark is the void left by Grieger - will Day or Guiffreda or Culley be capable of filling it, or will we be bleeding goals? The forward line structure is something we did have trouble with last season, and you'd want the midfielders to look a little sharper than last year, but all in all we've got a best 21 capable of challenging for the flag.

Not liking how Lane is in the side. He is one of these players who tries hard but is simply not up to it. I'd swap Goldsworthy's position with with Hall and vice-versa. Hall showed last year he is not capable of the small forward role but played some really good games towards end of last year on the wing. Is Rowntree not in the side due to injury? He'd be a lock in the midfield. Bornholm only gets a nod due to Kirk going down. Lets hope he is more competitive to than Bock as the back up ruckman.
Realistically, we will get service from AFL players. For the first game at least I expect that we will have the option to pick Mitchell, Thompson, Ellis-Yolman, Joyce and Heath. A strong possibility we will also have Petrenko if Crows don't feel he has had enough game time yet and a slim chance we will get Redden if the Power go for the Lobbe-Renouf combination. Throw in a couple of those guys and this is a strong team.

Never even heard of a third of he side.
Compare it to the same side 5 years ago and it looks awful IMHO.
Or has the standard of the SANFL dropped so much that even though a side can compare horribly to a side of 5 years ago it can still be regarded as a strong side in 2013?
Even the side that got flogged in the first semi looked better on paper IMHO.
Mind you Norths side of that game looked a hell of a lot better than their side will look in Round 2 too.

Yes that 1st semi final side did look stronger/better but....
they got flogged. well and truly..
I wont comment on the standard of the comp untill a game has been played.
Personally, I think the young kids will be really hungry now some of the older blokes have departed.
Come on you doggssssss

Pretty good side there, just a few things-
Will be great to see Johansen in there.
Thurgood will probably play up forward all year.
Still got Surjan and Hayes to come in as mentioned and also Brett Ebert.
Thinking Butcher is in the Power's best 22 and might not play for the Magpies much if in good form.
Bobby more suited to FB and Beard CHB but that's a minor detail.

Yeah, I left Surjan, Henry Slattery & Hayes out because of injury. I put Thurgood down b ack as I think AhChee might play Round 1. I suspect Thrugood might go to FF when Butcher goes back up, but I reckon Butch will play at least a few rounds in the SANFL first.
