Mr Beefy - the points system has been in the RMFL since at least 2008. I know that because Imperials recruited one of their only dud recruits from the Southern League called Tonkin and he was three points. Recruited as a CHF and took 2 marks and got one kick for the whole season.

Are the Imps playing Echunga tonight in a trial game?

Will be interesting how Muffy goes this year.

He'd be around 36/37 I reckon.

I'd imagine he'd still be a real asset.

I would imagine ramblers are much smarter than using points on a 36/37 yr old as posted,

Given the amount of quality locals/juniors they have, it probably wouldn't matter that much.

I think in the past they haven't needed to use their full points allocation anyway.

Also, if he hasn't played since Karoonda, he would perhaps only be 2 (or 1?) point anyway.

His best is a long way behind him and I don't believe he would had a thing to ramblers team, I think they are better off bringing some more young locals up and adding them to the real good mix they've had for the last 3-5 yrs.

Can anyone enlighten me about Hein's coaching style? Is "from the Outer" on the money? Or is he (FTO) all froth and no bubble as usual?
I say no to drugs, but they don’t listen.

Any trials today? How did Imps go used to be?
Mannum had their first kick in anger today against Barmera.
Bowan played and now confirmed as a Roo Grasshopper.
Clayton looks the complete package and will brain the competition.
Mannum didn't unveil Kevin Sheedy's son, think he was in Western Sydney with Dad, but will play next week.

The Roos v Roos trial is a good hit out every year and always played in good spirits. I was concerned running water in the B's that the grass was extremely long. My first thought was that Clayton would be up to his neck in grass! He played very well, attracting a tag in the 2nd quarter in an attempt to shut the great man down.

Imps v Barossa will be a really good game if both sides field their guns. Would be very interested in the outcome of that one, given both teams are pillars of their respective leagues. Boughen did play Mrs Footyhead. Was good to see him in the green and gold again.

A lot of people have already been asking how much Ramblers are paying a 36yo player in Muffy. Fact is, he's not going to be getting a cent!

His son (or sons) play for us and always have, he has talked about coming here for a few years now but I guess the $ offered to him in the past have led him elsewhere.

At this stage he would probably start in the ressies but a few pre season niggles from other players may see him start in the a's and will definitely be a solid contributor. He may have slowed a step but that's only brought him back to the pack a bit more, will likely play in the pocket with bursts on the ball.

You might ask why we would play him instead of our juniors and the answer is pretty simple, the bloke is still a bloody good player and we need all the help we can get to overcome the spending power of the mighty Roos and Bears, plus our cross road rivals :)
