And whose job is it to determine strategy and areas of improvement? They've been sacked for failing to do someone else's job.

Their job is to play cricket and win cricket matches, obviously there not going to well at it at the moment. Ultimately your employer places conditions that you must abide by and if you choose not to follow those rules, you risk the consequences. It is a job and they have not met basic requirements so face the penalty.

It's precisely the sort of muddleheaded thinking that has gotten us into this shit in the first place. The 'employers conditions' are that they make runs and take wickets. You are right they aren't doing that so well. Questionaires FFS. How is that going to help them improve their form or team morale. A double fail on both counts and Australian cricket is going to pay the price. Questionaires FFS.

Yep. A schmozzle of the highest order. They should put this shit on during the Melbourne comedy festival. Indian and English audiences will be rolling in the aisles.

Averages 27 in India & 18 in Sri Lanka with a high score of 37 hard to say he plays spin well at all.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Watching the media conference with CA High Performance Manager Pat Howard on Fox ... what a frigging muppet he is, his performance and responses are embarrassing.

Brett Geeves has some reasonable punishments in his acticle which would be far more suitable than a one match suspension!

Correct, I'm sure they could find time in their busy schedule to comply with team rules, no individual is bigger than the team.

The CA talking head said there have been a number of indiscretions & things of that nature over a period of time with a few of the players dropped especially Watson and essentially enough was enough and a line had to be drawn in the sand. He also effectively admitted there are problems between Watson & Clarke and that that will be up to Clarke to speak out on if he chooses to.

A clip I saw earlier showed Clarke speaking very strongly in favour of these decisions taken.

Do the players deserve to be reprimanded for not completing the task? Yes.

Is suspending them from the next Test the right solution? No way.

Was the task meaningless and going to achieve nothing? Yup.

Does it show a lack of leadership from the coaches? Absolutely

How many people here are required to fill out a performance review sheet at work, if you refused to or forgot what would ur punishment be, your probably not going to work until done.

These guys while in India probably have more time on their hands than the average full time employee.

I'm sure nearly all us have been asked by our boss for some input on how things could run, better smoother etc etc.

If the coaches didn't ask for player input I'm sure we would have bigger issues with players complaining its a dictatorship etc etc.

And if after all they thought it was a load of crap I'm sure they could have quizzed through it ASAP and got over it, we have all been given tasks we think are rubbish.
