For all of those who were involved with 7's I have set up a small survey to help get feedback and make any changes I can to next seasons competition.

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XH6ZYPD.

I will be putting these results to the committee later in the year and making sugestions to improve the competition. I have already got some good responses and suggestions for next season but the more I get the better analysis I can make.

Grand Final tips people?

The Mens final shapes as a cracker, with probably the teams who play with the best structure making it through to the big dance. Na Fianna would have to go in as favourites, but Western would be pretty confident after knocking off St Brendans who were my early tip for the year. Would reckon it would be a fairly low scoing game with both defences pretty happy to give up the foul rather than letting teams through on goals, so could become a bit of a shootout for the flag. Hopefully its as good a game as last years final and a big crowd turns out to watch. My tip Na Fianna by under 4 points

Yep Na Fianna for me as well.

By far the most skilled side in their forward half that ive played against this season. The rarely miss an over inside 35 meters and play the percentages which is something that the goats will have to watch, given the amount of scoring options the fins possess. WI do have a very miserly defensive unit though so whoever wins those matchups will be where the game will be won and lost IMO (not so much the WI forwards vs the Na Fianna defence).

In the D2 final, Flinders to make it 3 in a row :D

Yeh my tip is Ni Fianna, just the ability to hold onto the ball and score majority of the time when in range should see them win by 4-7pts.

Hopefully the Div 2 game is a scoreless draw and someone takes out Nev.

I will be picking the goats. Defence wins finals.

I'm going to tip an upset and say western will take it out, mainly because they have better run out of defence and I think the ability to stop n.a. fiannas forwards. Looking forward to a quality game with either side a worthy winner

Men's final was a fantastic showcase for the comp today, well done to Western Ireland - fantastic effort to come from the 1st Semi to win the comp. Cracking finish kept the drama running to the final whistle. Na Fianna just can't seem to pinch one over the past few years and would be very disappointing for them.

Pity a President of one of the clubs not good enough to be playing did his best to ruin the day and destroy what had been a great family atmosphere during one of the breaks, made himself look like a prat in the process.

Congrats to Flinders on three straight years of supreme mediocrity. ;)

A president of one of our clubs lost his Shite? How so?

Only Wristy could post such a comment on GF night.

Thanks mate but the best team won on the day and The buck stops with the Coach. Steve Francis has done a great job mentoring WI. In hindsight I was probably out coached. Not getting too dramatic as we did have our chance. Great game of Gaelic though. Good signs for the SA U/18s as Paul and Aaron go into next years Nationals with a lazy Hannigan under their belt. Another great GF but I'm getting sick of being a bridesmaid :( Still if you have been around stealing cars to get to games of Gaelic 23 years ago :o you can appreciate a contest like today. Today was a Gaelic spectacle and one of my employers who controls a lot of the footy media watched his first Game of Gaelic today and I'm proud of the game that was on display.
No comment on the other 2 things as they detract from what should matter :(

Was a great day and a fantastic effort by all who helped out with setting up, working the bar, match officials, and packing up. We managed to get packed up by around 9. To the teams a great effort playing in the heat and three good games of Footy and was also good to see a hurling match in SA.

Certainly a win for local Aussie players! In a time where the top teams have improved mainly due to an influx of Irish players, Western Ireland appear to have benefited the most by scooping the best Aussie players from the now defunct Mitcham Hawks, in Chris Carey, Tommy Greenshields, and Soxxy Westergreen. Soxxy very “Shane Ellen” like moving up forward and bobbing up with 3 or 4 points in the grand final! The Mitchamgoats would only have 1-2 Irish lads?

Certainly a good day and good setup IMHO, well done to all who participated.

Trivia time based on our "history books".

Who won the HC in 1991? And would they have won if Wristy didn't kick the ground instead of the ball in front of an open goal late in the prelim? (second part of this question is rhetorical.)
