2/255 at lunch on day 3

Rutherford 167*
Taylor 1*

Lead is 88. They should have it near 300 by the end of the day and have 2 days to bowl them out and chase whatever is required.

With extended sessions and the batters to come plus the two that are in, if they bat all day I reckon it could be 350 Ish. All with attacking instincts and can score quickly

With a license to hit and no pressure, McCullam could have them to at least that today

Would be an interesting conversation at home tonight in the Rutherford household.

Son: "So Dad, what you make in your Test debut?"
Dad: "Zero"
Son: [snickers] "Want to ask how many I made?"
Dad: "Phark off"

In Ken's defence his debut was in the Caribbean (Jamica I think) against Holding, Walsh, Marshall and Garner slightly different proposition to facing Anderson, Broad, Swan and whoever at the Dunedan University!!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Good to see Ken Rutherford's son do really well in his debut. I reckon I've noticed a few Kiwi batsmen do very well early on in their career - sometimes their debut innings - but then not go on with it.

The one that comes to mind is the bloke who grew up in Australia, but went back to NZ to play for them having being born there. Can't remember his name.
