Believe it or not, he hasn't missed many games over the last couple of years.

Mitch Morton is an interesting price. Not sure how much game time he will get with McGlynn to come back from the GF team, and you would also expect Bolton, McVeigh etc to playing more time up forward this year.

Up against Ried, Tippett, White and I think you are right about Bolton in particular. No JS so your 200k is better spent on Varcoe or Byrnes.

Not too sure about Varcs but he's better value than Morton.

The forward line is tough to balance IMO

I have D Thomas, Rockliff, Franklin, Varcoe, Knights and Smedts. I was considering Bartel, but 3 Geelong players is overkill.

Morton won't score high, unless he kicks a bag. Varcoe could if he gets in the midfield, but he has always been up or down.

I have no Hawks and no Cats. Bit of a turn up there. Smedts is an interesting choice. I believe the Geelong player who has the biggest upside is George Horlin-Smith (midfield).

Varcs showed some great signs against the Cows but it was a typical scenario..inconsistent workrate and a bit too easily shut out of the game. I'm liking younger Cats (Horlin-Smith, Caddy) to steal that midfield time and Varcoe will only be a minor rotation with the majority of his time up forward. This spells doom for Motlop who still won't go and get his hands dirty. At a 260k price tag Varcoe is not all that cheap. He'll need to average 80 to be worthwhile but having said that I'm not seeing too many decent FWD rooks.

2010 he averaged 82, 2011 averaged 72. If he stays on the park, would imagine he might not be too far off an 80 average. Worth considering with the lack of quality rookies in the forwards this year. But is wildly inconsistent

That's what I reckon so he's not in my starting squad.

Nor mine for that reason. Will get him at a deflated price after round 6-8 I think.
