I like this :D Same time last year most people said we would finish third or fourth after losing 5 quality players

This year so far the only confirmed loses are 2 blokes who didnt play last year & maybe Margitich + a B grader to Karoonda yet some people are saying we havent a chance

That would set a bad precedent if allowable. They would surely have known for the last 2 or 3 months (since talk of Bowen to Mannum was first being discussed) what players they could fit into their playing roster, and then adjust their recruiting plans accordingly.

Alternatively, play 3 extra under 17's.

You are right here. Out of curiosity, how many points were allocated to Meningie last year?

Meningie are far more geographically disadvantaged than mannum and that's why I believe they where given 18 points,, I think mannum have done well to be given 15 points as it is considering there location and still making finals last yr, even sitting in the top 3 for the majority of the year

Thankfully you have no control over points then hopper of grass, as Meningie would get 30 and -4 for Motlop and McLeod  I would hardly call an extra 25mins 'far more geographically disadvantaged'. Mannum finished 5th not 3rd. You might recall knocking them out in the elimination final with your 0 point superstar McLeod tearing them apart

Imps were hurt by key injuries at a crucial time last season and will be out for redemption. Does anyone actually know who has left Tigerland? The only clearance I've seen listed is Schar. They played good footy last year, so are there anymore outs? Ramblers will be the yardstick, they were the premiers and deserve to be the barometer of the comp.

Think you need to read a little better Bazza I never said they finished 3rd I said they was in top 3 for a majority of the yr, just not the main part. Also I think you will find Meningie is a good hour from mannum, we wish McLeod was 0 points,

My reading is fine, your post has no logic. Firstly, points are allocated on ladder position at the conclusion of the year, correct? Not where you spent the first half of the season. Secondly, if Meningie is a good hour from Mannum, how far is Mannum from Meningie :? The basis in applying for more points is to recruit players. I'd assume the majority of recruited players (point players) would come from Adelaide, and from the tollgate there is a 25-30min difference in travel time and therefore, NO substantial 'geographical disadvantage'.

our points allocation at this point is a non issue, Bowen clearance hasn't occurred yet as a result of the incorrect paperwork being filled out, thankfully Dalwood is on the ball, god bless that man :D

There are other ways from Adelaide to mannum without going through the toll gate I'd believe, where's your logic with this? Shouldn't matter whether you guys get Bowen or not right? You blokes have been premiership favourites for a couple of months now :D and perhaps if you spent a bit more time on stopping your local players heading to karoonda, rather than trying to get extra points you will be better off in the long run.

we would love to keep all the guys who have decided to leave you think we wanted them to just walk away???? warhurst, pfeiffer and walker were all required players and it was their decision to leave not us pushing them out the door, $$$ talks in all leagues and these young guys are no longer persuaded by loyalty to their town unfortunately but the extra money they can earn, who can blame them when good money is on offer. We are hopefully introducing this season a program which will entice more juniors to stay at our club but we will have to wait and see if it works, hopefully it does because money is ruining this competition, our committee, our coach and everyone knows this.

thats correct, a club to club clearance is sent straight to Mr Dalwood, which is why you won't see anything until it is done and dusted

Haha I'm not even going to respond to what's in bold. Yes, we have lost locals to Karoonda, largely due to their coach being very close to those players, and being able to offer them some good incentive for their time.

Yeah it's hard as money talks most times unfortunately, but in saying that there are many loyal players in this league, that I'm sure get offered $$$ each yr and it's bloody good to see these blokes stay loyal to there club, that's what it's all about

I wanna know where all this talk about the new recruits at karoonda getting huge coin came from? I had a talk to a couple of them and I got told that there little bit they are getting covers travel. I'm sure no body but those players actually know what anyone else is on. Yet I still don't get how people can comment on player payments when they don't know anything about it.

i never said huge money was offered, but money is an incentive to move on if it is more than what you are being offered at your current club. I know the mannum boys had other reasons which they will say they left and I understand them. I just hope that these boys come back to Mannum one day when situtions change and before too many birdges are burnt.

Why would Mannum have points trouble?

Sheedy 4
Clayton 4
Bowen 3
Harvey 2
Hall 1

Mueller 0
Pech 0
Tonkes 0
Bowles 0
Thomas?

They used the u/18 rule before it got changed for some blokes.

Heard on the weekend Harvey got a job in Melbourne and has been living there for a couple of weeks. Mannum kept this very quiet.
