As is Warner and Hughes. All three merely warming the seat until we get a real top order.

I don't think there was a bigger critic of Clarke for years. I still don't like him, but have to say, he is in no doubt deserving of the captain title in this team.

Gutsy fight back by the Aussies. Missed this mornings session, but more massive question marks over the top 4. Hughes has the ability to score big hundreds, Warner has match winning ability, but both need a decent score soon. Cowan and Watson skating on very thin ice. Watson does not deserve the mantle of Vice Captain.

Very interested to see how Doherty and Maxwell go. Lyon unlucky - although could've and should've hit more spots in the first test than he did. Still, to drop your main spinner of over 12 months after 1 Test in India is a bad decision IMO. Doherty and Lyon together should have been the go.

Cowan wasn't out, so does he get another chance?

The 2nd innings.

Averaging 30 isn't cutting it. Have liked the way he goes about it, but his lack of class at Test level is showing. Can't just keep the same top 4 if they continue to fail.

See your point, but Hughes, Warner and Watson are crap also. Cowan seems to be a bit of a scape goat, but at least he bats like an international/first class batsman.

I thought there was no DRS? Why did they go to 3rd umpire? Assumed the umpire had already decided he hit it and were just checking if it carried. Anyway, right decision made in the end.
