A very close source to the muddies has stated the 3 lads were looking for a club that had 9 points so all could go together wendles was the main man of course .....1800 for all 3 well go figure but i do believe there is a player already there on 900 plus who cares as long as they win their fair share of games.

Worst thing ironbank did was appoint him which pushed away the boys like wendles, Williams etc.... Will only go backwards especially with the recruiting of Ryan Mcgahey who would be mid 30s and just sending Ironbank into debt.

Haha, did you wake up on the wrong side of bed chop chop. Wendels, Williams left for massive amounts of cash on offer by bottom side Myponga in the GSFL. Ironbank couldn't get close to matching it and McGahey is playing for far less than he was getting at Birdwood. Seems like you know a lot about nothing sweet cheeks ;)

Guarantee you, money was not the reason they left.

McGahey would not be playing for far less his missus wouldn't allow that.

To be honest I did misread and thought we were talking about two players. Regardless in my personal experience with the mud larks they have never been big spenders period but I will allow you to do this math equation 'shake n edited' - edited

I have to agree, you are coming across as a bit of a **** champ. You don't even know what your talking about, for a start Sambo is getting a healthy sum of money from the mudlarks and Tom Carroll is getting a 4 figure payment. Then add in the 3 newcomers who are getting paid better than some players I know who have sanfl experience. If you are going to post something make sure you can back it up because you clearly can't on this topic.

Have also heard this from a good source. They've decided not to travel to Victoria every week and will front for Loby from what I've heard...

I bumped into James at the servo a couple of weeks ago. He has done his back pretty bad with work and wont be playing any regular local footy. Said he and Chris will head back to Anglesea to play a couple of games here and there as they lost a few players. Chris is going overseas half way through the year for his honeymoon as well so that will limit his availability.

Chris is NOT playing for Lobey. Not sure about his bro.

I thought Conor Healy was going to the Southern League, but is back at Bridgy? And one of Lofty's big recruits is playing at Maccy? I've been gone too long.
We want Vaughn.

Word on the street is that Chris Shee is sitting the year out for onkas citing work commitments. If true a huge loss for the doggies and will need to throw out some coin to replace that caliber of player

Just back from O/S after many months away and hear Callington is now the problem of Div 1, sorry. Have read past posts and did not gather alot of info. What has gone down there? I am told (feel free to correct me) they sold out the club to please a few vacant people who had kids that wanted a game to Bridgewater. If this is the case I am not happy. I am an original player and no-one asked me, if they had I would have helped stop this decision. They had my details, if this is true its p##spoor. What about the Seniors or don't they matter? Very ordinary that the town has lost the club which started there, how selfish. Sorry to clog this site if I am unwanted but I have contacted 3 original people amd and all said they didnt get a look in. A very weak effort I reckon.

is Blackwood and Flaggies playing a trial on friday night - anybody know & if at flaggies or woods home?

barkeroos having an internal on friday
then playing Happy Valley 16th Mar @ Mt Barker
and another good trial against Yank on 24th Mar @ Cornerstone
other trials from the Courier:
Lobey playing Barossa District on 16th
and SPOC on 23rd

looking forward to a great year in the Hills
reading that Bridgey has not lost too many and a couple of good ins
same as Ironbank and Mt Lofty
Lobey should step up a rung or two on the ladder if they don't have injuries
the might Barkeroos to be as strong - with minimal turnover and the same training buildup to the season
not heard much from the Demons front - imagine they be as good and strong as usual - GF replay first game (though takes them a season to warm up)

I think you are right Ktm in that no-one wants to hear any more about Callington on this site. United Eagles are over. I can't comment on the reasons you mentioned re selling out to Bridgewater. I do know some original people were asked for input but many weren't when they should have been. The meeting which decided the merger was not advertised until three days before it happened, leaving many unaware.

United Eagles had some incredible glory days early on, but the powers-that-be let the baby out with the bathwater around eight years after its' formation and the club imploded not long after. Best for those involved on and off the field that they remember the club for what it was and what it achieved. Anyone interested in early days memorobilia PM me. Then move on, forget the Eagles and spare this site Callington raves. Plenty of clubs are looking for passionate people. Find one!

PS If you are who I think you are Ktm, 'C's play on Friday nights and Sunday arvos. 8)
