I stopped reading here. But I did hear Collingwood are joining Div 6 next year. Not to worry they're no chance as they're negative 3 for recruits.zedman wrote:Purely speculative ladder

We have this debate every single year, but I will reiterate, clearances mean naff all when push comes to shove. It really is a case of the proverbial "not seeing the forest for the trees". You need to look at the overall picture and see not only the recruits and their standard, but also where the team was before the recruits. This is why I still rate Mawson Lakes, Lockleys and CLG over Rosies despite the raw numbers in the clearances.
If we are starting at a much lower level, which according to several independent sources we are, then we will need those +13 recruits just to stay in division 6. I can categorically tell you that only 4 or 5 of those recruits will be playing regular A Grade. Yes, Weekley is a great player, however I don't think any of the others would be at his standard. Hope to be proven wrong though!

I'll go out on a limb and suggest Aysh Simper will have a pretty reasonable impact at this level. If nothing untoward has happened to the bloke since I last saw him could well be as good as if not better than Ben.

Or regular A Grade Div 1 player Chad Francis??
Should be the cherries on the cupcake for CLG to push into the top 2 or 3 given their already strong squad.

moses wrote:Oh well once again the season is done in Feb, 16 recruits into the Div are going to win the medal so i better let John know to strike a few extra medals for the night.
Some recruits may have only played 6 A grade games and 2 B grade games in Div 1 and may not be superstars but what they are is 2 points!
Look forward to the CLG v MP grand final!
