The SANFL today confirmed the ABC as the official television broadcast partner of the 2013 ‘be active’ State League competition.
The agreement ensures one match of every round of the 2013 season will be televised, as well as every match of the ’be active’ Finals Series, which will be played at AAMI Stadium.
SANFL General Manager Football Chris Davies said the League appreciates the ABC’s long time support of local footy and is pleased to once again confirm their involvement as the official television broadcast partner for 2013.
“Televising the game is an important part of connecting the State League competition with the community.”
“We see real benefit in offering the broadcast, especially for our wider supporter base in regional South Australia who may not have the ability to regularly attend SANFL matches. By partnering with the ABC we’ll be able to provide this coverage again in 2013,” he said.
Despite raising the potential for finals footy to be played at suburban grounds in the future, Chris Davies has confirmed the 2013 Finals Series will remain at AAMI Stadium.
“The commercial realities of our negotiations with the ABC inhibited our ability to make the move to SANFL Finals at suburban venues in 2013. However, it remains a strategic priority for the competition in 2014,”he said.
