A lower standard is preferable to teams folding/merging/becoming AFL reserves IMO.
In fact I'd like WWT to become just WT and W again even if it meant lowering the standard.
I reckon when our generation passes (30/40 year olds) there's not going to be the crowds like there were anyway, so the standard's going to drop, regardless. Better not to cut up anymore teams. If Sturt was lost there's a potential 5000-6000 fans lost. Fans who might've turned up to say Norwood along with the same number of Legs fans and neutrals hoping to see a blockbuster, if both teams were doing well a potential 14,000 spectators is not too much of a stretch. Same could be said of Glenelg and Port.
