I wouldn't mind an 8 team comp, but that doesn't mean I want Sturt to drop out.

That's what I was thinking. ABC telecast Adelaide oval game each week.

The AFL sides will field a ressies side in the SANFL within 2 years so I cant see it being an 8 team comp

Don't be so sure. Maybe in the ressies, but I doubt in the sanfl league comp.

This, would like Sturt to survive as they have one thing two other clubs don't have - fans. As a Bays fan I would like to have Sturt survive as we are virtually gauranteed a 4000 crowd which equals $$$$ to my club.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I wonder if a poll went up, "which club you would happily see fold" would win, or loose. Probably not a good idea.

Won't happen, not when the AFL like to schedule Port in the TV graveyard shift of Sat afternoon (early or late afternoon game) sonot too many Sat afternoons will the Adel oval be free when the ABC prefer to do their telecast to fit in with their national programming.

Anyway wont Adelaide oval will only be used for SANFL finals? More like likely to play neutral games at a the modified Footy Park which footy will need for games scheduled in Feb/March (NAB Cup) when cricket have the oval (IIRC). Also they wont want to over use the surface with regular SANFL games more likey to get the occasional Fri night game.

They'll need the modifed Footy Park (capacity 25 000) when Port don't fill Adelaide Oval and it is more economical to play them out of West Lakes!!!

It's only a three horse race, the six other clubs are quite viable

You are probably correct. Was just thinking having the same venue to broadcast from each week would save on expenses for the ABC and sanfl.

I would pick one from outside those 3. I didn't say they had to be in financial trouble. ;-)

No club with SANFL directors should fold - therefore I am saying both Sturt and West must survive. They have both given too much to SA footy not to have a continuing presence. Perhaps there is a team with a presence elsewhere that the SANFL is considering moving on?
