Thanks Roxy. I now know 100 % more about water management in the Murray/Darling basin than I did about two weeks ago.
Who knows, if it helps the river overall, perhaps my tunnel/irrigation scheme will come to fruition. :D
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

gee, that's a really good plan. So, dam the bejeezus out of it on THIS side of the GDR but let it go out to sea on the other side. When this happens, do they all go NA NA NA NA NA?

because they will be told to, by an independent body or organisation that runs & controls all the Australian waterways. For example, in S.A. there is a save the murray levy that everyone has to pay, whether you use river water or not.

That would be as cost prohibitive as the long talked about pipeline from Lake Argyle to the Southern States, while in theory both great ideas, they will never happen due to the cost

i would think the federal government would make that choice? Not trying to be smart here , i am just not sure. But i believe it would be the feds, not an independant body or organsiation that would make a choice like that

no, we just take 20 minute showers, run through the sprinklers on a hot day, water the driveway, jump in the puddles with our yellow rain boots on, go fishing off the 90th floor of the tallest building in the CBD, swim to work instead of drive, run naked down the street

maybe you should take up your frustrations with the QLD government, even better the Federal government, as it wont get you anywhere just posting about it on a football forum.

i also dont remeber you or anyone in SA, or any other state helping or offering help to us when we were in level 6 water restrictions only 3 years ago.we have had just the last 2 years of above average rainfall, which is very unusual.

we had a serious drought here too. maybe if we all worked together with a nation-wide action plan, in the future things might not end up the way that they did.
