CFLs as downlights are carp

CFLs as direct replacement for incandescent work well

LEDs are problematic but the right ones can replace halogens

I HATE rats and mice... to the point I vomit at the sight of them.

I only vomited at the sight of a Mouse after he pulled on that red-and-white guernsey...

One of the kids' guinea pigs dying. *

... after the emergency (read: expensive) veterinary appointment.

Telling the kids that their guinea pig has died.

Digging a hole in the backyard - dry as a bone, and of course I picked a spot where a bloody tree root ran through - to bury the dead guinea pig.

* - no, AHLers, this did not occur as a result of an accident with a roll of duct tape.

There goes another $1200 I don't have. Luckily he's insured but you still have to pay upfront first. This is on top of the $3k I've just paid for my sinus op and the $2k I'm giving to Heaters mob at the end of the week.

Baked beans and 2 min noodles for me for a while :(

Seems you are correct.

Received a letter yesterday telling me that they can't accept my assessment as it doens't meet the qualifying criteria for a claim under the cover provided for my policy.

Combing the PDS and lo-and belhold they've worded it so the accidental injury isn't covered unless its caused by a car accident or a couple of other things. However, I reckon I can get them on the wording, so Internal Dispute Resolution, here I come.

You'd think I would've learned something having worked in Insurance for 8 years and having done some homework earlier this morning with the IDR girls here at RAAA, we think we've got them already.

Now to craft a finely worded letter to tell them their policy wording is riddled with loopholes and I've found the one that says my fat cat IS in fact covered, so pay me 8)
