Do we get the number 1 draft pick for finishing bottom

Ha ha. Funny Jim. I admire your humour when your club is in crisis mode. I know how passionate you are about the teams you support. Even as a Carlton supporter, and the bombers are my most hated team, this is bad for all football followers as the impact on the league will be monumental

More essendon supporter mates. Also the Carlton v collingwood rivalry has more mutual respect than Carlton v Essendon. In recent history anyway and from my experiences being at these games annually

Would this then mean that the AFL would have to let Essendon draft up to 25 players to fill its list for the coming season?
How would this go with guys that are contratced to SANFL clubs etc?
If they dont do this what happens to the other 15 or so guys on their list? Do they allow each other club one draft pick from this pool and fold Essendon up

there would be a out clause in the contract. Would happen if a team had a heap of injuries and suspension that they couldn't fill a side for the week. then again we are talking about the AFL so there probably stupid enough to not have it.

Jim, the AFL will be sh!tting themselves that the players will be suspended. But I still think the AFL will make an example of them.

I wonder what role the AFLPA will be playing in all this? There is a rule in the AFLPA that players can't be fined or suspended without due cause, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

And to think the season kicks off next week! The AFL will be working overtime working through the possibilities.

I was saying the same thing today at work TSG, there must be a ruling on how to deal with this type of situation.

I don't think one player will be suspended because of this. It will be a club punishment. Bomber's arse might be twitching a little.

if true then asada will have to answer some serious questions. Wade Lees recieved a 18 month ban because him imported a fat burner that was contaminated with setroids. Can't see how you can him for 18 months for importing a fat burner witch contained setroids when it wasn't suppose to, which was seized by customs so he never actually had any. then let off players that have actually taken a banned substance.

Have the players taken anything illegal? Was anything found in their samples?

Exactly. Couple of lads in Perth would also be in a similar position.

Still think Essendon will have the AFL allow them to bring up their VFL squad. How else will the tv contract be honoured?

do you really think players where taken off site for vitamin b and c injections? think of the cost of the people giving the injections hiring of the offsite place and compare that to the cost of a good multi vitamin. The area of what they where told they where getting and what they actually got sounds a bit grey to me. But ASADA say it's the athelete responsibility to know what's going into there body.

I don't think anything will happen until next season that way players will be deregistered and Essendon will top up their squad at the end of the draft. It is too late for the draw to be changing and the AFL have contractual arrangements for 18 teams.

Reading HIS side of the story doesn't exactly paint a good picture. Why was he importing a second hand fat cooker? Do you now where we can read asada's side of the story? Must have been more evidence than what Lees is telling.

$30,000 for vitamins? You can get bags of oranges from the Riverland for next to nothing.
After the crap that was coming out of James Hird's mouth when Matthew Knights was shafted, do you really believe him?

It's not just the player's that could be facing a ban but any offical's involved could also be banned. Until it's publicly know how many people where actually involved it's pretty hard to say if there will be a Essendon football cloud or not.

I thought this article was pretty good reading. somehow i think this is just the start of something about to get very ugly. Telstra have stated they may pull sponsorship if doping or criminal links are confirmed. Imagine if telstra toyota coke and channel all pull there sponsorship and tv right.
