Yep. Probably Freo. Liam Pickering is a dog, hated the way he went about the Ablett deal and this has the same thing written all over it.

As for 2013, we have the list to finish top 4, I just hope the playing group feel the pain I have over summer and do something about it...

I honestly think the Hawks will be at best 3 - 5 after the first 8 rounds of the season. Very tough start to the season, I feel they might be shot mentally after the grand final, add this with a bit of Buddy speculation and they might have a lean season.

Freo have the cash to spend.

Yep he is gone.
This has Ablett/Scully written all over it.
Will provide a big distraction to Franklin and Hawthorn over the coming year.
Cant understand why anyone would turn down the Hawks decent offer to go to a bunch of scrubbers like Freo

I know people have differant priorities but I hate friggin losing, id play for half to be in a winning side.
Apparantly the Hawks have offered him around $900k-$1m a season plus a fair share of marketing, he isnt going to get much more at Freo, maybe $200k a season tops.
Is that worth it to play in an unsuccessful side?
Id bet Ablett regrets ever leaving Geelong no matter what his wage is

It will be Freo. They had the money to make Cloke a huge offer and they will somehow find more for Franklin.

Hardly the same as Ablett going to GCS. At least Freo are competitive and look like playing finals.

I dont think Franklin is going but Pickering is a dog like most player managers. He would be stupid to leave. Even if freo offer 200 - 300k more in melb he has a much bigger market for advertising and sponsorship deals. Im sure he could make 300k by wearing a certain type of joke or using cartain toilet paper.

Is going no where.
This is not new news, he said months ago that he is in no hurry to sign.
It's just Pickering starting the negoitiating.

Rumour in Melbourne that his last contract with the Hawks had a clause in it that he could go to the club of his choice for a first round draft pick when his contract expires ;)

Nah he's going to Adelaide as a direct trade for Tambling, #4 for the #5 pick in the 2004 draft fair and equitable trade I think. Aelaide have cash they have saved letting Tippett go....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Adelaide will never get a big name recruit. Unless it's a washed up former star (carey), or the go home factor.
