Suburban Ovals

Most be off season and nothing better to do so :

Which grounds do you like/hate and why ?

Norwood : Love it for the tradition, atmosphere, close to the action, many memories, Coopers, baseball, seen most of my football here.
Richmond : Hate it, NIL atmosphere, usually a shit game, no opposition supporters. Night games an improvement and the playing
surface is not too bad.
Prospect : One of two I like, good atmosphere, usually win there :), can sneak a Coopers, usually a good game. Odd shape but OK.
Elizabeth : No thanks too big, hate hearing the crowd call the umpire ref, never xxxxing win there. Great surface though.
Woodville : The other ground I like, always a good tough game there with loud atmosphere especially when close. Good size and surface
usually good.
Glenelg : Don't like the ground at all, too small, supporters ALWAYS whining, hard to get a beer or have a xxxx. Bloody lose a lot there
too.
Alberton : Make that 3 I like, great atmosphere, good surface, ALWAYS a hard/good game. Supporters tend to give me the shits
Noarlunga : The least enjoyable place to watch and presume play football. Windy, cold, no spectators, shit game usually. Hate it.
Unley : Whilst no longer an oval it is disgrace and should be shut down. Shocking surface, dog shit everywhere and they don't want you
to drink their beer. The Unley of past years saw some great games but too small as well.

Started our premiership year with a win there last year.

Saw some comedy gold from Jace Bode too. :D

Unley Oval: 160m x 115m = 18,400 sq m

Unley is 160 x 115, Norwood is 165 x 110. Glenelg is the dwarf, 160 x 110.

As far as surfaces go, Norwood last year was the worst by far. Worn out. Glenelg was a great improvement as was Richmond. Woodville is spongy (still) but not as bad as it used to be. Noarlunga and Alberton have the best surfaces by a long way.

It's all in your head. The oval is a perfect oval shape. It's just that the southwestern grandstand isn't parallel to the ground.

What about Thebarton Oval (sorry Adelaide Airport Stadium)?
