100% agree... Don't know why everyone is against smithy... give the lad a go he is only young. What happened to all the Hughes critics from a year or 2 a go? If he was dropped and never given another go we would be missing out now. Give the lad a chance.

Hughes went away and modified his style & approach.

Whilst he has improved a little and I love him playing for the Redbacks, has he really changed his technique that much. Remember he has only play Sri Lanka, talking test cricket

Brodlach - he is a Redback now - we love him and he can't do any wrong... please move your criticism to anyone from NSW or Shaun Marsh

Smith has bowled 15 overs in 5 shield games for NSW, seems he is in the Cameron White category of "potential champion all rounder turned batsman"

C'mon, Shaun Marsh is justified. Apart from teeball he hasn't done anything. His first class record is inferior to even Callum Ferguson. Absolute spud. Even Steve has him covered.

Please!!!! he can't even get a game for NSW but let's pick him for Australia?
And as for Watson picked. I think he may go straight past Cowan and open in the first test

jeez you obvioulsy didnt read what I wrote, the chance of squad player 15 16 17 getting a game is minimmal at best. The development opportunity for the young leggy and looking to the future of spin bowling for australia (which maxwell, doherty etc arent) there are far more positives than negatives in him being selected at No17 or travelling over to India with the side

I read it. Matty Hayden was at least scoring runs for Queensland. Zampa is behind O'keefe. If you were taking a young spinner it would be Boyce

In Australia spinners are selected because they can often bat or not go at 5 an over. O'Keefe has been tried, but he has no x factor just like doherty and to an extent Lyon. Yep Boyce is another possible. Zamba is a spinner of the ball, get that right and him to mature and we have a future test playing wicket taker

You look at the other spinners around the world, they all have an x factor be in bounce, drift, action/wrist differences etc. Our offies with basic actions and minimal turn are pump on the world stage

Well they are sending a youngster over now.

Gambier out of their test side. Some changes being made. Based on.the squad they have picked you can forget any half decent wickets!

Yep they will play Sharma and three spinners the pitch will turn an absolute mile from ball one.

We have to play two spinners or an extra batsmen, having three pace bowlers will be pointless!

Harbhajan, Jadeja and Ashwin will all play no doubt.
