The full program needs to be set at the start of the comp, not tweaked and twisted as it goes as it leaves the turf open to criticism about some sides getting easy draws and others always getting grouped together. How many times have Pooraka, PAOC and Payneham played each other over the last 3 years? Way too often this happens early in the T20 comps, not during the semis or GFs.
It could be said that those three clubs, together with perhaps Reynella are the best 4 (T20) teams in the turf, yet they seem to always be drawn against each other and knocked out early.

I understand the need for the round robbin stage to be grouped geographically, but there is no need for this to occur during finals (as these are played on Saturdays so getting to the ground after work on time isn't so much of an issue).

Another issue from my point of view is one I raise 3 months ago, Concordia (and A2 club) playing their A-grade in the Div 2 comp. Why the turf allowed this is beyond me.
It's no surprise they've made the GF now, and from what I can tell, no sides come even close to challenging them during the first 5 games.

Semi Finals are being played on a Tuesday night so I think the geography is an issue.
Pooraka have played PAOC a few times the ATCA T20 comp, but I don't classify Grand Final and Semi final as being knocked out early. Your not getting confused with SAMCA Cup games are you?
Agree with your point on Concordia playing in Div 2, but they will argue they put their hand up to round out the comp. Still not fair to have A Grade side playing against B Grade sides. Does this mean people will be supporting Payneham in Div 2 Final?

Not sure people would go as far as to support Payneham! haha.

Correct, the Semi Finals are Tuesday and this is the furthest travel they have programed (Reynella to Pooraka). The Rd of 16 and Qtr finals both could have had travel involved (especially the Rd of 16), yet they were all programed geographically from what I can see.
Given how often we play teams close by, the Round of 16 was a perfect chance to spread it out and play teams we normally wouldn't face.

Yeah, they meet alot in SAMCA too, but I was still referring to the ATCA comp. As 3 of the top 4 you wouldn't want them meeting too often before the Semi Finals.

2012/13 - Payneham vs PAOC in the group stage.
2012/13 - Pooraka vs PAOC in the Round of 16.
2012/13 - Pooraka vs Payneham in the Qtr finals.

2011/12 - Payneham vs PAOC in the Qtr finals.
2011/12 - PAOC vs Pooraka in the Semi finals.

2010/11 - Payneham Vs PAOC in the group stage
2010/11 - PAOC vs Pooraka in the GF

That's the turf comp only. SAMCA adds another batch of games to the mix.

Personally I think the scheduling of games based on location should only apply to the group stage. If Round of 16 and Quarter Finals are scheduled for Saturday then it should be an open draw. If that means Reynella play Trinity then such is life.

First i was told it was old scotch at reynella, then hope valley at hope valley, then last night old scotch at their ground.
Its changed again?
So what if we played them in rd 1. that was at our ground....so we play them in a final at theirs, thats the fairest solution surely!

Your just upset that you have to drive all the way to POOraka to get your pants pulled down.

I'm guessing its the travelling that upsets you because you will have your pants pulled down no matter who you would play in this fixture.

Do your homework before you comment..murky.
We havent lost a game, we travelled to Woody rechs last year and beat them to get to the AO final, and beat them at home on tuesday.
We played old scotch and beat them in 12 overs none down chasing this year and they are in a final also.
Currently top of A3's with 4 outrights!
Glad to see you've written us off, but to be honest....you are a dill and nobody cares about your ill-informed posts!

I wasn't asking for your clubs resume champ, just simply stating that you will be pantless after this game.

Merki - considering the off season spending Pooraka undertook and the players at 1,2,3,4 & 5 you would like to think they have an advantage, however if the Wineflies do get up, I expect you to take a pantless run down Rundle Mall.

I agree.

Round robin, should be location based, Finals should be round of 16 pools and like all tennis tournaments have the bracket system.

Clubs can't complain now and try and move games because its too far to travel/work comittments etc. You have known for months about these dates.. and if you didnt, you should have got a clue from previous years that these are played on a tuesday night.

If we do play reynella we should try and start the game at 6.00 at kilburn instead of pooraka and have it under lights.

Totally agree, kilburn would be a better venue. No offence to Pooraka.
But hey we'll play anyone, any time. Just think some blokes can struggle asking employers to leave early because of a cricket game.

I think it is is sad but unfortunately a sign of the times that hte majority of turf discussion these days is about a hit and giggle 20/20 comp. Sad but sign of the times.

When I first started my internship in the banking industry, I was pushed by my mentors to mix, mingle with the high fliers of the banking/ trading world. To start with I didn't fathom the large phrases and their use of the English language. But through persistence,of asking questions, breaking down parts of the conversation I could understand and decipher the rest- sorry, I filled in the gaps of the chat that I didn't get.

I ended up managing to converse with the high fliers and feel I have got to where I am today with this stepping stone passed in my lingual journey.

Perhaps "heater" you weren't asked to take on this type of challenge, perhaps you failed to complete this challenge, or maybe you shied away from this life challenge all together.

From now on I could post using laymen's terms, or I could bullet point it for you? I could even get my PA to send you a voice memo via email if reading is the problem.

The other route would be to take up this lingual challenge again, you can try to get over this bridge at any time in your life not like puberty, where you only get one shot, and I think that with my help via the private message function we can work through this together.

With the recent rain I hope all teams get away tomorrow.

Again our old mate # dribbles on and on about irrelevant subjects to the topic at hand

Only light showers around from now until game time, so would hope most will get away.

Cornford from Goodwood has been quiet of late since his early season hot streak and Rooboy is finding his groove ;)

Quit bagging the tager, he has a lot of fans.

Cornford has only played once where he didn't hit at least 150.
Still averaging 192.

Too right. We're sledging Jye all the way up to about 190. Even had a go at home for calling for a drink on about 135.

Not his fault he was thirsty from spanking em everywhere.

Amazing game in LOE Mawson Lakes vs Adelaide Rockets yesterday.
Adelaide Rockets 217
Mawson Lakes needed 32 off 3 overs to win,
Came down to 4 off the last ball to tie, 5 to win.
Old man Spy Saunderson proceeded to smack a 6 over Mid-wicket boundary, cleared by 15 metres. Great Show.
