Kilburn had trouble last year paying players what they were owed would hate to think how they could afford the gowans!

Kilburn haven't spoken seriously to either of these guys re playing at kilburn. The gowans have never been to talked to, Benny nason would have had the question asked as gg and thommo know reasonably well but from what I've heard salisbury spend big north have signed his services. Good rumours though and wished they would come true...

After speaking with Gates and Pead, not only have we picked up handy players but top blokes too.

Also a rumour is that one Nick Giles is off the grog in preparation for a big year of footy

Does sound like Smosh will be pretty strong this year. A few good recruits and plenty of depth in the lower ranks. After hearing a few other rumours, Smosh may surprise a few people this year.

So all the talk at the moment is about how good div 2 is gonna be this year. It seems like a lot of sides have recruited well.

Who are people thinking are the teams likely for relegation?

On this forum there has been little talk about flinders park, smosh, and Portland. Definitely unfair to say these sides are likely to be relegated based on that, but what are others thinking?

Honest Assesment

Flinders Park - a side with great depth, some very handy young blokes running around and some good big men, on there day will take it up to anyone but need to find some consistancy, 1 or 2 new recruits would be great for them but i think they will miss the 5 this year

Gepps Cross - another side i dont no much about again coming down from D1 should be very competitive, have picked up a few good players including a very very good CHB should be in the top 5

Kilburn - plenty of talk about the chicks, some very good young blokes, if all from last year are going around again should see them do well again but moving up the grades so quick they cant really afford to loose any and probably need to gain a couple

Modbury - to be honest didnt overly impress me last year, play the wide expances of there oval well but think they might need to find some quality new faces to be a threat, bottom half

PAOC - were a very dangerous side in the back half of the season last year, plenty of quality at there disposal, just needed to get them all on the park at the same time, i see them improving this year, around the 5

Port District - have lost some very handy players, still a lot of quality there but can see a small slide down the ladder, i get a feeling they will gain some quality though closer to the season, in the past there recruiting has been good

Portland - will be very similar to last year, very hard to beat at home but need to improve on depth

SHOC - Dont no much about at all and havent heard much, they were a D1 grand finalist 2 years ago so they still must have some serious quality around the place, im interested to see were they are at if anyone knows anything about them

SMOSH West Lakes - depth is the key for them, always a very solid team and with the addidtion of a couple experienced midfielders to go with there very good big man department, should see them be mid table

Walkerville - from all the talk going to be very hard to beat, great depth and with the inclusion of Christie, and Heinze to pair up with Fisher up forward will be a nightmare for defenders, think they will be very high up when it comes the serious time of the year

Talking to a few SHOC's the other day, they have got alot of players back from the D1 GF team. They will be around the mark from my knowledge.

That was my point, they have blokes running around in there C grade that are capeable of playing A grade footy, its there biggest strength

SHOC lost about 12 players from their GF side of 2011. With Fosdike back in, and a few more rumored to return, I reckon they will surprise a few.
Is Horan still coaching? He runs a pretty good game plan which really suits the bigger ovals used in finals. May struggle slightly on the smaller grounds. But it all comes down to how you play in finals anyway.

Horan isn't coaching he may still play but the rumour is he may go country. Peter Caven is the new coach.
