You do realise Smith is only averaging 2 less runs an innings than Ferguson this season and Smith has hit 2 more scores over 50 than Ferguson!!!!

you need both. No use taking a player over who has had a good career overall but is in terrible form this season. Also, very risky taking a player with an average career overall but just happens to be in ok form at the current time.
