Well, you can but they association won't allow it with the higher grades. In the lower grades a C and D grade side might end up in the one grade but if a club's A grade finishes bottom in grade 1 and their B grade win a grade 2 flag, both sides get relegated.

Nope incorrect if your a grade were relegated from div2 and b grade promoted from 3 then u stay in the exact same grades as what happened to Atco 2 years ago, there a grade finished bottom in div 2 their b grade runner up in div 3, the next year they stayed in the same divs and the a grade made a div 2 GF

Which part of my comment do you believe was incorrect? The example you've cited doesn't negate anything I said so far as I can tell.

I must be reading it wrong but u said if an 'a' grade finishes bottom in div 1 and the 'b' grade win div 2 both teams would be relegated!

Wouldnt this mean they would play in div 2&3 the next season.

This wasn't the case in the Atco situation I pointed out.

I must still be drunk from the cricket or am I missing something.

What happens if a side A Grade wins Grade 1 and their B Grade win Grade 2

Oh hang on they go to Turf ;)

In all seriousness in that situation i would rather see the div1 7th placed side retain their spot in div1 than the 3rd placed div2 side taking that spot.

I hear what you are saying, but I actually agree with Bagster, I think it is a smashing, especially given the game was played on a foreign surface to the PDCA boys being played on turf which is a great advantage to ATCA, but more importantly to knock them over for 107 is an incredible effort. Being 7 down is a bit harder to decipher whether it was from good bowling or maybe PDCA being aggressive and looking to chase down the runs quickly, and also take into account how many overs were remaining when they passed the score.

A great effort considering there were probably a couple of bats that could've played in that side..

Oh and well done to J. Ritzema who was selected as the spinner in the side, and everyone including myself was sceptical and surprised over his selection instead of Wellington, but to his credit he claimed 3 wickets and bowled a treat from all reports..

.. he's really come along since we had that chat 8)

Good kid 8)

Still the funniest thing i've heard all year was in the 1 day game when i came out to bat with 3 balls to go and 18 runs to win, bowling to Kent and he informed me "Get ready, i'll show you how to bowl spin.."

6, 6, 2... really showed me  - before the last ball you could almost smell the crap running down his leg

Executive Member wrote:Probably getting to the stage where the PDCA should reduce numbers from 8 to 6 in each grade so that will incraese the cpmetiveness of games each week and shuffle some sides out of grades that they shouldn't be in

Play every side home and away two day games comes out to 20 weeks, premier only promoted and have a play off 5 v 6 for relegation

Just something out of left field that could work and make the grades far more interesting

You might be right, it may be time to rethink the structure, although having 8 teams in each grade is ideal IMO but the standards appear to be dropping and the gap between divisions is narrowing.

PDCA are like a football club at the moment, going through a re-building phase, over the past say 5 years have lost a lot of quality players - whether to B&LCA or ATCA or retirement, but looking over the sides, there are plenty of young kids coming through with serious potential.

People complain about the lower grade 1 day sides dominating, what about something completely left field and keeping the same structure but with two seperate competitions operating? Give sides a ranking/seeding and place them in a division accordingly.

Re-structure the programme so you dont have the 7 1 day games in a row. This would allow sides during the season to play teams they otherwise normally wouldn't and would challenge those sides who dominate the low grades like TTG. Have a 1 day final as well for the top 2 grades, the remaining grades compete for ranking and promotion for the following season.

1 day grades would still be one day grades, except obviously they would have 7 matches during the season against sides from outside their grade and results could be used to take into consideration on seedings for the following season?

Would take a fair bit of planning initially.. thoughts?

Looking at the Salis west V Craigmore scores on my cricket, it appears the Craigmore captain stuffed up with his bowlers, the 40th over where the game was won, he had to bring on a fresh bowler for that 1 and only over. Very Costly. Seriously though... why didnt Dylan bowl a couple more, seems to have a liitle bit more in the kitbag than a few of the others who got dispatched.

I didnt go to the 21s last week but recieved a phone call after the game and was told we were cruising at 3/90 ish ( then an umpire may have taken it upon himself to try and help even it up a little. ) PDCA totally dominated all day..... also regarding wello not playing, i was told salis west players were asked to play 21s and all but willi said they had footy trials, willi had work that evening...but thats ok, it gave other players the chance to play and spreads it through the whole comp.
