I think Ironbank would give you a run for that claim mate

From Satudays 'A' grade win against Callington on Saturday 18 off the 21 came thru our Junior Program.

From Ironbank I don't reckon Katinyeri, Kanongataa, Hare or Exelby came from their Junior Program. Plus others I don't know of.

good call armytank just been through last weeks final siren and in the a grade we have 11 locals who have all come through our jrs.will muirden, gareth williams, chris schnider, chris thomas, scott walter, nappies smith, dave flaherty, dan partridge ,steve harding, and chris naughton .there is another 9 to 10 in the bs as well not sure about c grade but there would be a few there as well . all up i would say 20 to 25 ex jrs still playing in seniors for the thunders .another way to look at this is to see how many non locals are in the seniors (a non local =someone who hasnt been at the club for 3 years or less ) this year we have had something like 20 to 25 clearences into the club a high % of these have come from country areas to go to uni and the rookies have done a lot of the hard work to get them up here !!on sat we had 7 non locals in the a grade thats a third of the team (muffy, joely k,graetzy, howeser, jake"chuck"norris, harey and closey) how does this show up against other clubs ?

Cougar - 18 out of 21 is very impressive, though it will be difficult to maintain with no colts sides this year. I wish you the best for getting junior sides back together for next year.

The club must have done something right 10 to fifteen years ago to keep the players at the club. Why aren't there colts sides now? I am not having a crack, I am just curious.

in the a grade mate yes u have what about your bs ?as a hole ironbank dont lose to many players once they come to the club we lost a couple this year (morry and tarque)but we got reasonable service out of them 5 years i think but most other imports over the time i have been at ib (10 years this year )are still there either playing or coaching or helping in some way it says a lot for the fabric of ironbank :) :)

We had strong colt sides during the 90s and a heap of players came thru that enabled us to make the 'A' grade finals 12 out of the last 14 years. We don't pay our blokes, but we win more than we lose. But to continue to do so we will need colt sides or bite the bullet$.

Ironbank must have turned things around then (Junior program). Remember getting a touch up in 98 GF from a side full of imports!

He's not actually coaching but you could say that he has been helping out on the sidelines for David Murphy while he (Mitchell) is out injured. Haven't seen enough as yet to comment on the other matters but I can't be critical at this stage and he has brought two pretty handy players to the club with him.quote]

Is one Willy Tamarapa? who is the other one?

Is there something going on with Willy Tamarapa and Shane Mitchell? Those blokes have been to at least three clubs together now. For a shit coach he sure has a following!

Bastard, he was thinking of playing with me(a mate) at Mt Lofty, rather than for coin, I just thought he changed his mind. Top bloke, thats the kind of recruit you want, a good footballer and someone who will add to the club off the field.

Does make me laugh that there are people out there that think that Macclesfield is paying large sums of money to players.
I know Lynchy was on the forum here last year trying to say that Maccy was paying megabucks but he was certainly way off the mark as well and for what it's worth Toffoli isn't getting paid either.
Two of the players that are supposedly on big money haven't even been sighted for about 3 weeks now.

But Toff is a gun, getting on in years now but still is a match winner.Annoyed to lose him at Kenilworth but at the same time is welcome back any time.Genuine nice guy aswell.

Love The read on the Hills forum. Some of the misguided posts are very laughable! For instance Cougar claiming the James players aren't being paid, though i can't say it with any authority i dont believe this to be the case. It's been said before paid players are needed it's more a matter of getting the complete package. The key to a club maintaining/ gaining success whilst remaining a financial success is finding recruits who are going to give back to a club! Whether that's over the bar through coaching or any other service, that is the major issue. On the juniors at kersbrook i can't see how a small town or any other geographical issue should be of concern. Ironbank's success in the junior ranks over the past couple of years has come from hard working and committed junior reps such as Ron Axford! This is starting to pay off in the senior ranks and can be seen with most if not all strong clubs!!! Clubs such as your Uraidlas and Lofty's even though are complemented by many recruits have strength across the board due to the juniors pushing for spots!!![/quote]
