Very much so Onsong. It is a beautiful course with some very interesting holes. I will play with you there one day if you want. Then you can show me around Balak! What's that like by the way?

Greens are very slow to prevent them from dying in the summer but for a volunteer-run country course, I consider it to be very good.

That said, it's not outstanding but I'm sure when the winter months roll around, it would be quite picturesque. It is what it is. Would rather play there than the Dunes at the moment. Haha.

Probably a lot kinder to the wallet also ;)

$10 for 9, $20 for 18 I reckon. Forked out close to $70 for 18 and cart hire at the Dunes. The most I ever spent on a round was at the Sea Temple golf course in Port Douglas. $150 for 18, ended up being about $200+ for cart and club hire. Beautiful course though.

They siphon water off from the town steds scheme so the fairways and greens are mostly rich and lush. Tell the boss you have a breaking story to follow up in Port Augusta and come up for a quick 18. Perhaps Bugsy Thomson is looking at coaching South Augusta

Haha. I've been through Augusta twice in the past two weeks. CBF going there again for a while. Lol

Played north haven today.
Little nine hole course
Fairly short but fairways and greens good
Rough is very dry and dusty
Had fun, played it in about an hour and was $14 for 9 & $17 for 18
Good pro shop too

Cheaper to just play the front 9. The back 9 tends to be fairly expensive and you get in trouble if you play it without paying.

Mt Barker is my home course. It is in pretty good shape, plenty of run on the fairways (as you'd expect this time of year), I find the greens a bit inconsistent (due to some being more exposed to sun then others - an excuse for my bad putting) but on the whole they are quite good. Not sure what your expectations are but hopefully you enjoy it. I think it's the nicest of the hills courses (excluding blackwood - if you class that hills).

Definately - Greens fees are $30 for a Sunday round, $20 for a members guest compared with Mt Lofty which is $35 & $30 for members guest. The course is a hell of a lot better than Mt Lofty.

Just Booked for the Kooyonga Open Day on the 3rd Feb. Always enjoy the round here and my first visit since the redeveloped 18th hole that was under construction the last time I was there over 12 months ago.

How much did that cost heater? And what sort of event is it?

Yep hasn't stopped raining all morning up here. Rain will be great for the course though.

Yep, pissed down the whole front 9 - everything was soaked, including the wife who came with me to drive the buggy, so pulled up stumps after 9. Was just too wet to get a good grip on the clubs...

The guy in the pro shop was really good and gave me a complimentary 18 hole voucher, which he didn't have to.

Rain ruins a round of golf more than wind does IMO. I'm one of those players who will only bail if those around me start to.

a few years back, i was playing at belair to get my handicap, torrential rain, fairways and parts of greens flooding. anyway our group kept going. but apparently the round had been called off when we had only been 1/3 of the way through, but no-one had told us!!

the bad thing was my round didnt count, so i had to go out and hit another 100+ to get the max handicap

Nope I hate wind with a passion. Will play through light/steady rain with no issues as I have all the gear but if its gale force winds and driving rain....see you in the bar.
