My first thought as to who got the singing duties was Siddle.

With the Aussie fast bowler rotation policy they are just as likely to rest him every 3rd or 4th test

True but I reckon Lyon is going to have to bowl extremely well in India to hold his spot for the Ashes, even that night not be enough

Aussies will definately play a spinner in England.
Think the selectors love the balance.

I hope the play Lyon, just think the English are playing spin very well at the moment, Lyon has struggled to bowl out sides and reverse swing is what killed us last time.

If Siddle, Pattinson, Hilfenhaus, Johnson, Starc, Bird, Cummins are all fit (unlikely I know) I reckon the selectors may look at hitting England with a pace attack especially if Watsons bowling days are over and the pitch has a tad of green on it

Also don't think 7 wickets @ around 40 would impress selectors to much, especially against an average opponent on 2 pitches that did suit

Had we had a competent wicket keeper he would have had at least three or four more wickets. What would his average looked like then? If Warne had Wade behind the stumps he wouldn't have take as many wickets. The role of a keeper is massively under rated.

Agree but while Wade is hitting runs I don't think he will be the one leaving the side, not while there is 4 pacemen in 'reasonable' form.

Lol. Are you kidding? Why would anyone think wade is good enough to play as a batsman alone? Watson isn't good enough to play as a batsman only either.

Neville should get a gig but he wont.
Heard an interview with Inverarity today and he said they will take 2 keepers on tour and that it will be Wade and Haddin.

Agree, there are quite a few 'batsmen' who could fill number 6 better than Wade. I really thought he was the long term keeper but I didn't know his glove work was as bad as it is.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Not sure what Cowan has done wrong either. Anyway, there are 4 tests against India before anyone starts worrying about the ashes.

Is averaging 45 and just hit a 100 batting at 6

Every other option is even more unproven at test level, not exactly guys smashing 1000s of runs in the shield either.

Also averages 42 at shield level which is just as good if not better than the other options including the clear cut next option Khawaja who is averaging 43 and performed below what Wade did with the bat in his first six test matches

Not sure who people think are these magical gun batsmen who have done alot better than him in the shield. Maxwell lol
