NEW DUAL POSITION PLAYERS FOR 2013

Jimmy Bartel (Geelong)
Averaged under 100 for the first time in five years in 2012 - 98.6. Won 16 per cent of his disposals in the forward 50, a career-high, and will be a forward/midfielder in 2013.

Tom Rockliff (Brisbane Lions)
Capable of huge scores as a midfielder, Rockliff spent most of the second half of the 2012 season parked in the Lions' forward 50. He'll be tempting as a forward/midfielder next season.

Greg Broughton (Gold Coast)
Frustrated many in fantasy land by moving all over the field this season, although the blame for that can largely be levelled at Dockers coach Ross Lyon. Broughton will hopefully be able to settle under a new coach at Gold Coast next season and will be classified as a forward/defender.

Jude Bolton (Sydney)
Swans veteran will play his final season as a forward/midfielder.

Hamish Hartlett (Port Adelaide)
Rising star be a defender/midfielder next season which enhances his appeal, but history of hamstring injuries means he will still be a brave choice.

PLAYERS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR DUAL PLAYER ABILITY

Dayne Beams (Collingwood)
Became a SuperCoach star in 2012, averaging 123 points a game. Can you find a spot for him as a midfielder only?

Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood)
Started the year on fire but tailed off a bit at the end. Like Beams, he's now a permanent midfielder.

Alan Didak (Collingwood)
Champion Data has thrown Dids in with his younger mates. Midfield-only next year too.

Nathan Fyfe (Fremantle)
Follows the path of many promising juniors who start forward before graduating to the midfield. Mid-only.

Ryan O'Keefe (Sydney)
By the time he starred in the Grand Final ROK wasn't spending too much time near goal. Clearance gun who can only be picked in the midfield in 2013.

Champion has also revealed that there will be at least 14 ruck/forwards in 2013 , more than double the number available last season.

Champion Data is yet to reveal whether Brendon Goddard will retain his defender/midfielder status at Essendon, while fans are also keen to learn the decisions on Dustin Martin (fwd/mid last year) and Bryce Gibbs (mid only last year but def/mid in past seasons).

In summary:

Okay with me, especially the rolling lockout.

Smart move by Herald Sun.

Allowing only 2012 Gold Members access for now.

This will cause all serious SuperCoaches to subscribe to the 2013 Gold Package as soon as its released.

Question is, how much would you pay to access SuperCoach before Feb 1st?

Yes, it's open today for SC Gold subscribers and I did a first draft team

I reckon for serious players the $20 investment is worth it relative to the time you spend doing on it over the year
In between signatures .....

Now there will be no rolling lockout, which I am happy about. The thing I'm not happy about is the 2 trades per week now available. So in 1 year it has gone from 24 where you had to strategise about your trades, to people having 2 trades every week to try and mould their side to match the top teams.

I'm not convinced it will be for the better. The English Premier League Fantasy competition does 1 free transfer a week and if you do not use it it rolls into the following week and you can have 2 but no more than 2 free transfers a week. Every trade after the 1 or 2 then costs you points off your score. So you can trade your whole side it will just cost you points. You also get 2 wildcards throughout the season to use which allows you to make unlimited trades at no cost. I guess this system works good for the EPL as games get postponed and some teams don't play certain weeks if they are running deep into a FA Cup etc.
