I see Plympton are getting the FEVOLUTION to play the 1dayer after Xmas!! Is he going to be speaking at the club that night?

So are clubs having their Xmas break up on sat night?? What are numbers like for all clubs? Do you have an entry fee, cheap drinks, dj etc?
Our clubs Xmas shows have been poorly attended the last few years, but I still don't drink responsibly and I enjoy myself as I spend it with the best team mates I've ever had!

Goodluck to all teams this week.

Lastly I wish everyone a very merry xmas and a safe new year!

We have our inaugural casino night coming up in Jan and then we have our annual quiz night as well. Plus we just had a movie night for our milo have a go nights where 120 people attended. Our junior teams are going from strength to strength with six teams now and our d grade in section 7 where half the team are 15 year old kids are sitting 3rd on the ladder. Plus were above Plympton on the table in the a grade. Satisfied? I could go on...

So Plympton are obviously trying really hard to develop their club then? Akermanis last year.. now The Fev. Which bloke missus out on a game? Aker was a great asset last year.. the 20 people that came to watch were enthralled watching him lose the game for Plympton!!

Hi guys, haven't said much this year but I'm sure your all well.

Fev is playing next game and yes he will be speaking at the club on the saturday night, with Dennis Browne hosting to answer somebody's question.

To respond to another comment about plympton developing their club, things like this are an opportunity for us to develop our relationship with the local community, which in turn should help to develop our club in the long run.

The crowd was dissapointing last year, but there were about 50 inside the club for most of the day instead of the usual 10, and there were 20 or so outside instead of the usual 5. plus locals were dotted around the outskirts coming and going, so for a first go i think it was ok.

I believe doing things like this not only have the ability to put the club's name out there, but also the association. The A&SCA doesnt do much to promote itself, whether this is the right way to do it or not well who knows, but it has the ability to do so.

With regard to who misses out on a game, that person is unlucky, but its no different to those players like aker who do the same thing at footy clubs, he would have played for about 10 different footy clubs over the past 2 years. It doesnt appear to be frowned upon in footy, so i dont feel that it should be for cricket either so long as your not making a mockery of the competition. Aker was about 1/2 a metre away from winning the game for us, in hindsight he probably should have come in up the order! And fev played U19s cricket for victoria, and also looked pretty damn good on glenelg oval the other week when he almost floored chris cairns.

Look some clubs do the same old stuff like quiz nights and whatever else and if that works for them then great, but we felt we needed to do different things so this is what we've done. I think its a good thing. And at the end of the day as an opposition player if you hate the bloke u have the ability to put him on his ass with a bouncer, if you like the bloke you have the ability to sit and share a beer with him after the game. And i think thats a pretty unique opportunity that no other club in the comp has provided.

So if you want to have a go at us then fine, thats up to you. But from experience i don't think I'd ever have a go at a club for trying something a little left field in order to attempt to promote their club.

Good luck for all this week and have a happy and safe christmas.

It's bloody boring here lads..

Since it's so boring I'll take the bait...

Still whinging about everything? Nope, since our oval hasn't been hijacked by our rivals advertising we a perfectly content

Figured out how to bowl sides out on your own deck yet? Absolutely, proved that on saturday, now we just need to stop losing our own wickets so fast...

I think Caleb summed the rest up, tho I'd always prefer to be above Coro on the ladder than worry about Plympton.

Just out of curiosity AF... when are you mob sending out the plaques for the last 3 seasons Magarey-Benson Trophy? Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the losing club each season provide the plaques? On the banner issue that you're still sulking about perhaps ask the local council about that and where they put it...

On the trophy I think you're wrong. I can't remember the last time I saw it. It remained in Blackwood Football Club even when we held it. If your finances won't allow for some engraving then perhaps you send our secretary a request to assist. May not have been updated for years.

So the council put you banners up for you?? Yeah right.

I'll put the poster on here in the next day or so, but its 50p/person, or 80p/couple, or table of 10 for other ASCA clubs $400 if anyone is interested.

Yes there are a few that have some questions they would like to ask, question time should be fun...

South Road too good for us today. Rolled us for 59 in the 1st dig. Think we were 7/135 in the second. Going to be a tight table!

Did i see it with my own eyes, the scoring KING one D. Billett is playing section 1 today? Good on him. Dont know if he's able to bat/bowl/field and score at the same time but where there's a will, there's a way! He could even do the scoring shots graph whilst out there.

Cove could extend its lead at the top of the table with a win against morphies. Morphies win and they keep themselves alive in the finals race.
Corro and Sth Road will be a tight game, could go either way. Win and keep in the top 4, lose and its a log jam fighting for the last spot.
Keswick should be too strong against ANA and keep themselves in the hunt for finals, but all depends on what keswick roll up. Did they use their get out of jail free card last week? Anyone from Keswick want to comment on why Bubbles, Rusty and Macca all battered at the tail???
ICC should account for Haven. Haven better have packed lunch and dinner cause they will need it with that drive!
Ramblers will beat Belair that is all!
GF rematch, Same result as last years GF! WYC win again!

Jabber has there been any thought of attracting ex cricketers to these type of days instead of going down the footy path ?
