I think the clubs will want to prepare for home games, players will want to look at byes, coaches will want to plan their management between breaks etc. Not to mention fans wanting to lock in dates.

Correct. Do I book a holiday for Easter? When do my kids have their birthday parties, etc etc? In my household it's planned around our match schedule.
