They owe Pickhard a fair bit on the loan he gave them for the POW and they didn't exactly get a great interest rate either from him!

Nice deflection away from the shared admin, you guys should be in Politics.

And Gerard's input extended much further than just sponsorships such as Bianco and Scotts

Don't think anyone has a real problem with shared administration do they? Shared football department resources are a different kettle of fish though.

Rubbish - how would you know how far it extended? I don't see the Robert Gerard "Taj Mahl" standing at Prospect as does the Alan Scot Centre at Alberton! Bianco's sponsorship of Port would have been significantly bigger than Gerards' at North considering our current major sponsor is double what either Clipsal or Mistral put in under Gerard. His influence extended to guarenteeing loans where North could not borrow under it's own steam - no more no less.

As for shared Admin - we are talking about a potential business arrangement that went for 6 months with the North CEO Glenn Elliott also operating as CEO of Adelaide United. This was eventually vetoed by a combination of the League and North's Board not being happy. You are clutching at straws comparing a SANFL Football Club and an A League Soccer club getting any direct advantage such as the Magpies are getting from a bigger club in the same code operating as "one club".

Keep trying though - you may feel better that your club is cheating if you can shift the blame and play "smoke and mirrors"!

Your kidding me!

An AFL getting more sponsorship money that an SANFL one?

What a conspiracy! Get out your tin foil hats!

I think port have a closer relationship with the thunderbirds than north do with adelaide United.

Anything other than sharing administration. If it's too complicated, it might need to be looked at. Obviously port doesn't know where the line is.

Could explain the way Port play these days.
Mind you, it would make more sense that West had an association with a soccer team the way they avoid offside situations though.
Beenreal might have a point, well that would be if North actually still had any agreement with Adelaide United which they dont, they've actually made every effort in recent times to distance themselves from that fail soccer club and rightfully so. Oh and also if we had Lionel Messi line up at Full Forward for us next season who Adelaide United were looking at adding to their list in 2014.
As neither are going to happen its a pretty poor attempt of a deflection from the issue at hand but amusing none the less.

Anyway, anyone got any off season player rumours and discussion?

If Port Magpies are receiving such an unfair advantage why are'nt they dominating the competition ?

Simple really. Because the advantage doesn't span the same gap that their incompetence and their fans indifference creates.
Still not fair as long as they finish in front of other sides in which they wouldnt without the advantage.

DW, why isnt Jurrah playing for the Magpies now? Jail time? Magpies dont want him even though the Power are gifting him? Going home?

Can you perhaps elaborate on this.

What is your reference to indifference, aren't magpies crowds on a par with or above average to other SANFL clubs.

Agree there seem to have been average off-field decisions made over time, but wonder how much is a resources issue.

Surely one of the disadvantages for the two ports prior to the reunification is they were basically competing for the same revenue streams in the local area.

I believe he has gone away to consider his future. Ken McGregor said as much at Friday nights AGM.

From an un-named source, Jurrah seemed far from fit enough to head back into football circles. Certainly not AFL level and perhaps not SANFL level. Might need to find some motivation methinks.

Sorry to get the thread back on track. Plenty of other threads to continue to sink the boot into Port elsewhere.
