He survives and Bill starts going on about that could be the moment of Hughes career and if he goes on to make a big hundred it could cement his place in the Australian side for the next decade if he's good enough. Gee, he's just getting a little ahead of himself. Calm down.

He has already made 3 hundreds hasn't he? None of the others cemented his place.

Yep made three test hundreds.

Today is the first time he has passed 50 in a test in Australia

Before today his record in Australia-
12 Innings
175 runs at 14.58
Highest score 37

AU 4/299 [90] Stumps
Best number 5 batsman in the World 70 not out
One of the best number 6 batsman in the World 37 not out

Perhaps all this talk about these 2 going up in the batting order will now stop

What a moment
Just one the moments in Test History
3/198 when this happened
PJ Hughes B Welagedara 86
One of those win win situations
The eleven Sri Lankans very happy to get Phils wicket
Phil very happy to be bowled and not caught behind the wicket !

What a cricketer Fab Phil is
Ive endorsed him, renounced him , and once again endorsed him
He passed his Test today , against a friendly accurate hard working attack
Time will tell whether Fab Phil will make the highest grade or be redback playing permanently with his South Australian Team mates

Nope Clarke should still move up to number 4

You wouldn't wait to your 4 goals down to bring Buddy Franklin on.

You wouldn't play your gun midfielder off a half back flank if you kept getting smashed in the middle.

And you wouldnt bat someone who is averaging 114 + this year anywhere else
Ive heard this talk b4
With Alan Border and Steve Waugh , and they didnt go up and bat 4 in the order either

Im more concerned about Watto
He averages close to 45- 50 odd opening the batting
Why bat him anywhere else , making him a non opener was a no brainer , from his batting perpesctive

Waugh is a completely different case, he had a champion batting line up ahead of him.

Watson is the problem which is my point ,we keep shuffling him around when his looking to find form.

The modern greats of the game Lara, Ponting, Tendulkar, Sangakara, Kallis all moved up the order for the good of the side when they could of comfortably batted down the order and tasted individual glory.

A captain leads by example, instead of complaining the top 4 aren't doing there job, maybe the best bat in the world should show them how it's done and fix the problem, this would then also allow other players the chance to find their feet in test cricket

Agree how would you rate the Aussies keepers getting around purely on each skill

IMHO
(I'm no keeping expert happy to be corrected)
Batting
1. Paine
2. Wade
3. Handscombe
4. Hartley
5. Triffit
6. Neville

Keeping
1. Neville
2. Hartley
3. Paine
4. Triffit
5. Wade
6. Handscombe

Have left Haddin out on purpose, I have seen next to nothing of Ludeman, sorry if I have missed any others.
