Gene will not be at Mannum he will be at Mypo trust me. I have to admit i have only heard but i did hear from a very reliable source and i have not yet been proven to be wrong in the past. He would not fit into the salary cap at Mannum which the chubby chip cooker has set at no more than $50 k. There is however a private auction for invited guests only at the very prominite and discreet boutique of Heward estate , some of the finest 2003 vintage chardoney made to commemorate the A grade flag of that year will be prized from the cask and bottled as a 10 year old and auctioned off accordingly, I believe they have been in contact with imps and have secured the services of a mr de -michele who will auctioneer the event. It is believed that another $50 k will be raised at this special luxurious black tie event. The chubby chip cooker will be on hand throughout the day offering fresh hot chips with chicken salt to appeze the crowds.

Lets do a conservative estimate on Mannum supposed spending for 2013

Hall-$1200 per game
Bowen- $1200 per game
Sheedy $1200 per game
Clayton- $1200 per game
if they all play say 15 games for the year thats $72K without the payments for the Port Kids, Mueller & the Old fart! Say they come to $1500per game thats another $22500 on top.

Is there that much money in Sand & Bark?

You could well be right goldest one who would know , most clubs probably would need to pay that to get players like that. Hall i dont think would get that!! good player but not that good. Sand and Bark?? what the.

Its my understanding that if a certain person, lets call him "Coach" didn't get the same job he had last year, was going to pull his sponsorship from the club, which is a considerable amount obviously, to be able to afford the recruits

These figures are incorrect. You'll be pleased to know used to be that Im fairly sure Harvey and Pech get more than Hally. Coming from Diddles himself.

Dont know the coach that well but i do know most of the time local coaches dont coach for the money or even because they want to they do it because they have to , so i think you are talking crap. who really cares what the Mannum blokes get or how they source their money without the clubs that do recruit we would not be the same league.

The figures i have heard around the traps are these:

Sheedy $2200
Clayton $1600 I have no idea why Sheedy would be worth $600 more than Clayton
Harvey/Pech $2000 split how they see fit

I won't speculate on Bowen, Hall, Thomas etc as i don't know, but i am very confident on the other figures.
Fair to say there wouldnt be much change from 10k a week, add finals which would be expected and 200k would be around the mark for the year.

Perhaps instead of taking Sturt away from the RMFL just relocate them to Mannum ;)

Where does their money come from?

I think you are way off the mark but again this is all heresay and rumours and no actual fact. Until the club releases the 2013 AGM and financial report you'll all have no idea what the total player payments are but I am doubting it is anywhere near 200k, if it is then faaaark I hope we sell a few more snags and beers next season

I hate to be the bearer of startling revelations. But perhaps these figures you've conjured are in fact, false  It is also quite possible for 30+ year olds after several years of league football to want to have a kick with a few mates

I think what's happening here is other clubs have put substantial offers to these players and missed out. They automatically think **** they must be getting a $hit load at Mannum to turn us down. I

spot on bazza, if indeed we have signed all these players who are all in fact friends who want to play together then maybe the money is not as much of an issue as others are making it and things have worked out to get them all to mannum and within a set budget.
