They had to be otherwise they would end up with no recruits. Had to be signed off by the SANFL by last Tuesday
July 11th 2012....

Jacob Surjan has also signed on with the Port Magpies after not making it onto another AFL list...

BP, is Will Northeast a father-son situation?

Not sure mate. I think he was playing at the Eagles initially because I'm sure I read or heard somewhere Will was playing junior footy over in Moonta, which is the Eagles zone.

Perhaps the Maggies just wanted to get him over because he is the son of and saw something in him...

Yeah, he has been in the Eagles junior system for a number of years because of residence, so a bit surprised if the Eagles said he was not required or disappointed if he left of his own accord, but that's the way it is I suppose.

Does Central picking up a ruckman in the min-draft water down the rumour that they have signed Cam wood?

My mail is that a number of SANFL clubs have approached Wood prior to and after the draft and, as well as quite a large $$$ contract demand, he is reasonably settled in Melbourne and not really looking at returning to Adelaide? I guess if you throw enough $$$ at him he might reconsider?

You can never have enough ruckmen.
Especially experienced ones.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

No surprise to see him sign for a stand alone VFL club given the AFL doesn't impose / monitor the same $$$ cap restrictions to the VFL and Vic Country leagues as it imposes along with import rules on the SANFL.

As mentioned on the cricket topic.

Ex St.Kilda footballer Daniel Archer has signed with a SANFL club, was revealed during the tea break of the cricket, his a Tasmanian and was a contestant in the fast bowling comp.

Anyone know which club he has signed for.

Thinking Central have a good record from Tassie so maybe them, North Adelaide have an ex St.Kilda player there so maybe a connection.
