Considering they just lost Grundy and with Jacobs, Jenkins and possibly McKernan ahead of Graham you would think Sturt would get a ready made ruckman for most, if not all, of 2013 and beyond.

The 2012 Mini Draft will be held this Friday (December 14) at 10am.

Below are the eligible recently drafted and rookie-listed AFL players who will be allocated to an SANFL club on Friday.

Please note West Adelaide will not participate in the 2012 Mini Draft due a recruiting ban which has come into effect this week.

The SANFL will be releasing the Mini Draft selections live via its official website and social media platforms.

I believe they were banned from the mini-draft.
Not much of a penalty if you ask me.
Most of those on the list will be ressies players at whatever club they end up at

Yeah, I was confused for a minute too, but re-reading the SANFL press release, it advises that, despite being banned from recruiting until december 31st 2013, West will be allowed to participate in the Mini Draft next year, which would be mid to late December 2013.

So Magpies were not banned from the mini draft ? They really dont pay any fine as its covered by the parent club who is proped up by the SANFL.

Were not Port banned from rcruting as well as their fine? I havent kept up with events of late

Edited my post - just read the SANFL site... There wont be a mini draft in all likelihood in 2014 anyway - The AFL clubs wont have players or sides in the SANFL unless they have a radical change of heart

What, and miss out on a guy like Angus Graham or Kane Mitchell?

I think that on balance, they hurt the club with their short term outlook and the lack of control we have over their availability. Don't think many will agree but I'd rather be without.
