Just thought I should note that today's actually the 10th anniversary of Crutchy's passing (didn't realise when I posted).
A wonderful man, Crutchy. Thoughts are with those who are thinking of him today.
One of my great footballing regrets is I didn't get to play under the great man - had my chance but didn't take it.

Do the clubs in the Independent league do any reference checks before appointing a club coach?
Not with what I have been told and read in the local paper and the club in question has been tricked by one of the best conmen in the business.
Sorry folks, but his story is mostly bullsh*t!

Not sure who your talking about but I think that every country club would have been burnt by a sweet talking coach/player at some stage.....
Throw some names in.... Frank Eder, Loxton North Coach/Player late '80's come to mind. The story goes, got paid 1/2 way through the year in advance and bolted....

Robbie's Facebook Status last night - "I'm proud to announce that I've been appointed the cobdogla football club's senior coach for the 2013 season. Im looking forward to the challenge and to committing to cfb as a player and coach. Any interested players are more than welcome to get in touch to discuss."
