You Don't Know Jack

Al Pacino is one of his best recent roles at Dr. Death - Jack Kevorkian.

Best. Superhero. Movie.

Ever.

Wasn't a bad effort considering the end product was a mish-mash of two directors' work (Donner and Lester).
Watched the 'Donner Cut' last night, which was mostly his original (discarded) footage, including a casting scene.

Main differences:

-replaces a great deal of the Fortress of Solitude scenes with Brando footage that the producers replaced due to cost
-doesn't have most of the silly super powers that Lester added (like the 'plastic bag trap')
-Eiffel Tower scene was a Lester addition, Donner had one of Luthor's missiles release Zod & co from the Phantom Zone
-Lois' attempts to prove Clark's identity are handled differently
-Donner cut includes a time reversal originally intended for II, but used for I instead (in a much better way)

Also has minor changes in the White House, like Zod with a machine gun:

watched Arbitrage last night

Richard Gere and Tim Roth.

Not a bad movie but fairly predictable. Richard is certainly looking his age these days.

Caught Caught Inside on 9 last night.

Not too bad even if the slow burn dragged on a bit.

And I'm not sure if the villain was supposed to be as funny as he was.

But he was the only interesting character on the boat.

Really wished he knocked off all the other sad sacks...

Heat

Apparently director Michael Mann was freaking out about the big scene with De Niro and Pacino.

Amazingly, it was the first time they'd ever action in a scene together on film.

After torturing himself about it, Mann realized he should just shoot the scene conventionally, no gimmicks...

Very good documentary about the "re-discovery" of obscure folk musician Rodriguez.
