I wasnt sure what the SAAFL would charge an SANFL team. We got stung $1000 and SAAFL took all gate takings and canteen when we played a final there a few years ago. SAAFL seem to be pricing themselves out of SANFL games. I'm interested to see what they charged the Magpies when they played the Eagels there at the start of this season.

Why would Port get charged for an eagles home game?

Probably a good decision, no use buying it and then going under cause you couldnt afford the repayments.

Westies are the only club I know that own their premises at their home ground (do Centrals?)

If they are in financial trouble you have to question their buying up of recruits last year.

pretty certain Central do BUT could be wrong!

We built The Club in 2000 on the back of a bloody big loan, so We don't own The Club.

From my understanding of it, from hearsay, rumour and from a Messenger newspaper from about a year ago, Centrals owns (or is still paying off the bank loan for it) the Grand Central building, the Grand Central carpark and all the vacant land to the south of the clubrooms and inbetween the bowling club and the houses. Not sure about any of the other parts.

KEN WHELAN LUNCHEON at BarZaar.
There is an official club luncheon at BarZaar this Friday 30th where Rick Davies is the guest speaker.
It has not been advertised until now because it was an invitation luncheon to Bequest Society members.
.

Isn't the bequest society a charity Centurion?
Aren't you drawing a bit of a long bow saying low interest from a charity group in the SFC amounts to Sturt fans not supporting their side?

sorry I couldn't respond from my Wedgie-imposed imprisonment but I would have thought that they would have opened it up to the public well before they did. Anywayz, from what I have heard, things turned out ok, with about 350 humans turning up anyway!

Our oval was a mess from a few weeks of rain and we asked to have our home final moved to an appropriate ground. SAAFL gave us Thebby then told us we owe them $1000 as we had "requested" the oval. We didnt request any oval but we couldnt talk them out of the fee.

Why would the SAAFL charge one of its members to use the Thebby Oval ? Are'nt Walkerville a part owner of the SAAFL ?
Got a soft spot for Walkerville, my dog shits on the oval  Don't worry we clean it up.

That was Walkerville v Uni last year
I've been told you did request the oval and were told you could charge people to get in but you didn't bother to put anyone on the gate.
I went to the game and was surprised the gate was wide open

There's no other hand there. Matt Benson had it cut off so he'd get more sympathy and make more money.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
