Tippett gets the biggest penalty of the lot, all he is guilty of is employing a dickhead agent.
I see he is now claiming he didn't know that what he was signing was against AFL rules and that it is the Crows fault.
He isn't even blaming the agent who negoiated it for him.
Sure, Kurt, I believe you... ;)

If that's what he truly belives we haven't heard the end of this as his father will be taking legal action for sure.

Edited for accuracy!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Burton ? marketable for TV ... surely you jest...

Probably worded that a bit wrongly. Burton at least was a bit of a cult hero at the Crows, and surely Tippett must have wondered why someone like Balfours chose a youngster like him rather than any of the numerous more well-known Crows players.

Tippett trying to blame the Crows entirely is hilarious.

Deserves what he got and anyone that is stupid enough to pay him $875,000 a year is destined for a huge fall.

he only accepted what the Crows offered him, he didn't tell the Crows to keep payments secret, he didn't set up the third party payments himself....

Just for getting back his $50k and 11 games he'd spend maybe 10 times that in legal fees to challenge and maybe still not win. Meanwhile the 11 weeks will pass anyway.

He will still get to Sydney as we wanted he just gets an 11 week holiday. The legal threats were on the basis he couldn't get to Sydney.

Had he copped a bigger penalty maybe his QC keeps going. Now I think he goes to ground and gets on with it.

Regardless, id say all parties signed an agreement that they would not take any more action.

Are you really saying you believe his agent didn't know what he was negotiating for him, and that he didn't discuss his strategy with his client and get his agreement??

That's 100% irrelevant. What Tippett ad his manager knew, wanted, asked, demanded or whatever doesn't matter. If the Tippett camp wanted something that was outside the rules it's the Crows job to say no we can't do that, not say yes then spend three years trying to cover it up. If it was the Crows offering those things to Tippett off their own back, that's worse.

Tippett had a top QC defending him and ended up pleading guilty and copping the same penalty as Trigg and Reid.

What does that tell you?

I would like to know why the AFL commission, AFC and the Tippett camp spent all day in a hearing/meeting on Friday. What did they all talk about or do all day? Surely they don’t expect us to believe they were discussing the penalty to be handed out. I read the penalties in the sun on Friday morning.

Oh well all over now got caught out take what’s give now let’s get on with winning a flag! That would make the haters hate even more and that makes me very happy. :D

I've got no argument with any of what you say above.
What the Crows did was clearly wrong and I do not support their acts in any way.
I'd sack permanently those who made that deal.

The only things I've challenged are the hyperbole about what the consequences would or should be, and Kurt's ridiculous claim of total innocence.
