everyone on here picking their team with holland in the team even though he has performed poorly all year, and barley anyone has picked Jarrad Mcleod who has performed extremely well with both ball and bat or young Trainios (however you spell it) who has made 2 centuries already this year...

Would be a shame for a few younger players who are performing consistently well to miss out for older players who performed well years ago but haven't for a while...

Ooh ooh I picked McLeod :D

Weinert is a pretty astute judge of cricketing ability, and has been around a long time, i'm sure he will take the best of what is available and in form and will not be selecting his side purely based on reputations/past achievements or sentimental reasons.

Holland is still a good cricketer but has struggled this season it's true, however I think everyone is aware of his capabilities and that is why they pick him in their team?

This Jason guy should not get overlooked for the association team now! It's a joke if the likes of holland and smasha get picked based on past carnivals 8 years ago

never played in a carnival idiot.....and if you want to pick jason purely on 6 wickets in eight balls....wow......
very good bowling yes, and a dbl hat trick as well....well done....so do we put all players in that have had 1 good game ?
if thats what you think then my selection should be ok as the other week I had a dbl hat trick as well ....not six in eight balls but I did get 5 wickets in seven....not too bad....now we all know why you dont get a say in selections powerport....cause you are an idiot.
still waiting for you to except my invitation for a chat and a beer ?
also ....congrats to jason on your bowling , and cougar on the big 100 mate, not your age , just your batting ;)
look forward to assoc training on the 12/12 and see if some of the big mouths turn up to train or even watch the training to see why some people are picked over others....or do what powerport does and just bag everone and everything from behind his keyboard. prove me wrong.

Geez Phantom, that almost brought a tear to my eye.. :p

For a rare change, some hard selection decisions need to be made this Carnival. Not fun, but that's why they pay me the big bucks..  Week & a half now until the selecting the final squad of 13 players.

As for selection 'policy', as the Carnivals are once every 2yrs, form over the past 2 seasons is important. Rest assured that all players vying for the 13 spots tick that box. I look forward to naming the lucky 13 next week and receiving 'expert feedback' from anonymous snipers. 8)

Wino, just on your team for the carnival, is that young bloke who come on second change Sat training for the squad?
From what i saw he bowled quite well and looks like he has good potential. I did notice he has a natural action and run up but he just stops and the crease and doesn't follow thru, also doesn't get his non bowling hand high enough.
The kid can bowl and i hope he is in your thoughts.

Ahh, Mosquito, ol' son! 8)

That's Jarrad McLeod. Sitting equal 3rd on the batting @ 57.00 avg. He'll open up next week, so you'll get a firsthand glimpse of him. ;) Made 92 in the 1st match against RP and has come on in leaps & bounds over the last 12mths or so. He has been out to 3 Assoc trainings thus far and definitely in contention. Agree with you re. his delivery stride. & something to work on. Still only 19yo. ;)

Don't be so hard on yaself mate, yes you were figured out and duly set up. ;) The look on your face at the pub that night was priceless!

Yep, it's gone pretty quick. Back there this year (Melbourne), same grounds (Royal Park), just staying at a different place (Melbourne Uni instead of Whitley College). I don't think the people at Whitley College took kindly to the NSW B's lads stealing the residents bicycles and riding around the 1st floor on NYE, or barricading the NSW A's boys into their rooms with furniture from other rooms..

im sure you have seen it on the FB group now but:
Sheidow Park 9/138 (Josh Vines 2/37, Jonathan Jaymz Smith 2/19, Jarrad Bungie McLeod 2/21, Tim Hodson 2/19) defeated Para Vista 104 (Smith 26, Vines 20*).

We didnt do too badly in the field, just lost too many quick wickets to start with.

Good point Amaretti, he currently is Captain of Rose Park A grade while Steve Neal is absent and all reports from his team mates is that he always makes the right decisions.
