ATM:

SAF:
5/ 495 (99.0) & 225 (74.0)
AUS:
All Out 163 (53.1)
Batting Now R B
AB de Villiers*136 (156)
F du Plessis 10 (28)

Do you honestly think this has any effect on the way we will bat?
Ponting and most of the others barely gave a whimper in the first dig
I think we can make 400-450 but 600+ is near on impossible to chase

If it weren't his last match I'd say we'd chase around 500.
Saffies batted poorly first innings also. Clarke's shown twice this series he canals a massive score.
Don't be so quick to disbelieve Jim.

I still have hope but I dont think Ponting's last game would even come into the players minds.

I was actually, optimistically, thinking just of his own.

Starc really got poleaxed despite getting six. Hastings was tripe. Hilfy and sids straight back in.

Ive always though that SA has problems with left arm quicks and leg spinners
Where AU erred is not playing 4 left hand fast bowlers in this test !

SA made 794 runs
MJ 6/164
STARc 8/209

The leftys took all 10 wickets in the 2nd dig

Next time we play SA , Putland, Bollinger, Faulkner , Starc, Johnson must all be considered

Finding it very hard to understand why Putland keeps getting a mention as a possible test call up...... I find it even harder to understand why Hastings got a game!

When you have about half a dozen fast bowlers injured or rested , you need to discuss whose fit enough to play
Hence why John Hastings got a gig , and why Gary Putland comes into the equation

Some of them seem to think Putland would make it in the Aus side if everyone was available.

Meteorology_79 might be on to something
How else do you explain the odds before commencement of play today
AU $7-50
SA $1-25
DR $6-50
NorMALly that $1-25 would be the biggest gift of all time for a cricket game
Barring weather SA should be $0-99 to win this game
I should have my house , and left testicle on the Proteas, but if SA didnt win , Jim 05 will remind me forever about it

fine and sunny today

Tuesday 4 December
Summary Min 19 Max 37 Showers and chance of a storm.
Perth area
Mostly sunny morning. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms from midday. Winds easterly 25 to 35 km/h tending northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h in the morning then tending northwest to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the early afternoon.

looking at that, i still think there will be a result, the odds on us winning are ridiculously short, the $1.25 for the saffers winning is very tempting indeed

Yeah I would take saffers with caution if there is weather about.

Considering have to break the world record by 200 runs plus a chance of rain anything less than 100-1 is a joke!

Agree, would love to see him, siddle and pattinson together.

Now it's unlikely that we will get the number one ranking I wanna see everything aimed towards the Ashes.

Starc should play all 3 tests against Sri Lanka, whoever comes in for Ponting needs to be give the whole series to make the spot there' and despite Haddin hitting shield runs Wade needs to know the spot is his .
