They may well remember that he dug the hole in the first place ... and based on some reports Trigg didn't fess up until the Chairman made him when he (Chapman) found out on October 13.
The fact that the Chairman wasn't aware of this before October 13 this year is staggering. Whilst the Board doesn't need to know about football operational matters, it certainly should be advised of any risk to the club's reputation or standing, and whether it was in risk of breaching AFL rules.
I wouldn't be surprised if they sack him, maybe with some justification.
